Is this the one where they are tearing down the garage apartment?

iloveionia

Green house on Ionia next to new to ONH bungalow on the wide lot with the picket fence.

sheclown

No, this is not a garage apartment, it is a historic house, a part of Springfield's fabric, now lost.

Sheclown.... I sympathize with you...I truly do.    It is like the City isn't listening at all .   And we have members of this site who applaud this activity.. I am constantly badgered by one of them ..

Would this house happen to be on the "Tarpon" property list?

avs

My F Billy owns the bungalow.  He has been in this house and at one time was in touch with the owner.  Such a shame.

I'm not usually part of the pro-demo crowd, but that place was a pile of sticks held together with rusty tacks.  Not a single straight line left on it.  If that was part of the "fabric" of the neighborhood, I want no part of the finished quilt.

I just Googled the  location..... I ll bet anything  the house across the street from it is soon to follow.

This place was in bad shape, but I have seen worse than it saved.

sheclown

The front porches were badly enclosed.  It made it looks really bad.

Timkin

The Google image of it did make it look really bad.  I hate , that places like that , if they MUST be dismantled, cannot have salvageable parts of it removed to use on other historic homes.

It is just stunning how monies seem endless in supply when its time to get the wrecking company out to a property. That happens with lightning speed. :(

I am beginning to realize that this mindset is never going to change. Not here. :(

TheProfessor

I don't think they should be allowed to demo anything unless they plan on replacing it with another structure?
