Yes, Ock, I think that is the one.  Somehow I thought you might know that  :)

I would love to have a good quality photo of the building with that logo. I believe the Seaboard Coast Line was up there in two different styles as well.

I am almost certain you're right but have not yet found a photo with a different SCL logo from the one Lake posted.

Unfortunately for my purposes, the 1970s and 80's were a terrible time for downtown Jax and there are not many photos. Tons of photos from 1960-prior, and tons of photos from 1990s to today.

You'll find Old Hickory's Town valuable for that reason.  There are a number of 80s street scenes and panoramics included in the very front and back.  This includes several clear shots of the BB&T building with its Atlantic Bank logo; a couple of street scenes around Hemming Plaza and looking down Laura from that general area; one of an early model of the Landing; one of the Florida National/First Union/Wachovia building on Water under construction; and several where you can see the Southern Bell/AT&T building and 550 Water under construction.  There's one panoramic where you can see the old Heard building after partial demolition and at least once shot where the Sears store is still up.  And there's at least two pictures where you can make out the Holiday Inn signage on the Robert Meyer hotel.

Oh, and the BARNETT sign and operating digital clock are still up on the old Barnett building.

I should add, I think there were two editions of the book, one that ran in 1982 and an update in 1985 that added some text and photos at the end.  If you get the 1982 print you won't see the Landing model or the Florida National building construction shot.

Those are great, KenFSU!  I love that you can see the Holiday Inn logo on the Robert Meyer in the first shot and the McCrory's in the second.

I wish the CSX building would "do" the American flag again.  What are they, anti-American or something?  :)

I pulled both "Old Hickory's Town" and "Rail beneath the Palms" and while there are tons of great pictures, there only a very very few of the HQ building. These are the only ones legible. Again, none with the Seaboard Systems logo. I was happy though to get a great quality copy of the Seaboard Coast Line logo.
