Cities Where Americans Can’t Get To Work

I found this article today via Florida Trend.  Florida has four metro areas in the top ten.  That's not so good.

This is a huge issue, but one that rarely gets recognized by the anti-transit people.  "I'm not going to pay you enough to afford a car, but don't want my tax dollars to get you there either."

You know, that list seems to show a lot of areas where there are a lot of suburbia or even gated communities which are far away from transit options. 

I feel like I'm turning into Glenn Beck here but are those anti-transit people the same ones who made their fortunes by selling people these houses that are far away from nearby mass transit?

The whole melbourne/palm bay/titusville thing is kind of goofy.  It's super long and skinny, aka brevard county, and there are like 6 major towns.  Most of which have one or a few major aerospace/technology employers and have tons of retired people.  Ttusville/Rockledge/Cocoa - NASA, Cape AF Station/Port and  Melbourne/Palm Bay - Harris/Grumman/GE.  The whole county is basically built around these big companies.  There never were big "downtowns" really to begin with.  The cities are like suburbs of nothing.
