yeah. Not sure how all that works out. Some stores do well, while others dont.

QuoteIt's always nice to see stores opeing in the landing but i must offer you a good luck...dealing with that man is going to be a real job...

Talking out your ass is probably something you should not try.

Landing got a great new tenant last week, and may get another fantastic one this week.  And neither of them are the one mentioned in the article(a RAM 'graduate' btw).

There are really some FANTASTIC deals to be had downtown right now and you're starting to see new small business signings that are actually quite exciting.

Village Bread has opend in the spot on Southside Blvd & Baymeadows that was formerly Black Bean/Sieara Grill/Woodys.  Went last SUnday morning after church and it was packed.  I hope they do well.

and meanwhile cut their hours at the Landing to just Monday - Friday

I heard a rumor that the Derby House in 5points is closing soon.

Dog Walker

RAM seems to be developing into a place where people are trying out food concepts and recipes then moving into permanent spaces.  Pele's Pizza and ????

Secret Garden Cafe(of Food Network fame) has acquired the Derby House.  They will be revamping the menu and interior over the next month or two.

Keeping Der-B-Q remains to be seen at this point.

It's actually been quite the incubator.  I can name about a half dozen people without even thinking hard who have gone on to open brick and mortar locations.  Another newbie to this group is French Fry Heaven... they are opening a cart at the Town Center.

I noticed the Bubba Burger Grill at Beach/Hodges removed all signage over the weekend. They closed their Fleming Island location in May after less than six months of opening. I can't imagine the other two will be around much longer.

They were on borrowed time as soon as the sign went up - what a HORRIBLE idea.  $10 frozen fatty burgers....Within a stone's throw of Five Guys and Steak & Shake in Fleming Island.

They had a Bubba Burger stand at the Orange Park 4th of July festival...I was not overly impressed.  I do like Bubba Burgers but it definitely wasn't worth the extra amount I had to pay for it.  Ill just stick to buying Bubba Burgers in the frozen food aisle at the grocery store and go to Five Guys next time :)

Never understood the point in buying frozen burgers...why not just get the fresh stuff, pay less, and make your own? Always found Bubba Burgers to be rather bland.

I honestly didn't understand the concept to begin with. And on Beach Blvd, they were directly across from Five Guys. No way that was going to survive.

I usually bike that way a few times a week, and it was always a mega depressing scene in there.

There were, quite literally, zero customers in the restaurant or at the bar every single time I looked in the window.

Terrible idea from the get-go.

^^^Well said guys.  I never see anyone in the Bubba Burger on Normandy, what a bad idea.

They seemed to be banking solely on the basis as a recognizable purveyor of good-enough burgers for people who don't want to put the time and effort into preparing their own burgers for grilling.

As a restaurant, I always walked past the place on my way to Brucci's for their Monday night live music show. There was never anybody in Bubba Burgers and nothing special about the menu beyond those burgers. Sorry to see another business close but in this case I can't say it was a shock.
