Regardless of your post update - my position remains. Explain how Mona Vie cured your friend?

Duly Noted, by the way.  ;D

Thought we were back on topic?

I really liked them too do they own the Gibbs in Orange Park?

The last few times I went to the Gibbs in OP (it's been a while) there were a couple of teenagers running the store, and they really acted like they didn't want to be bothered by any customers.  If they were closing at, say 7 pm, they would open all the doors around 6:30 and start sweeping around you while you tried to eat.  Little things like that to make it obvious they were ready for you to get the hell out.

When the Gibbs in Riverside opened I told the owner about that and he sort of frowned and said something like "that's to bad" but didn't say much more.  So my guess was that he wasn't involved with the OP location.

I did see a lot of religious quotes on the walls, but they never bothered me with any of that, or with any Mona Vie stuff.  Maybe I'm not that perceptive, but I didn't notice that they were involved with Mona Vie, and I used to eat there quite a bit.

I also remember one TV being tuned to Fox News and the other one usually had ESPN or maybe CNN.  I might be mis-remembering the CNN part.

SWEET - I'm not a Newbie any more!  I'm a Jr. Member!  Wait a second...Jr. Member sounds like what happens when a guy jumps into a really cold pool.  Now I've got to start posting a lot more so I can get to the next level...

Josh,  Lupus is one of those really strange auto-immune diseases like MS that can get better and worse for no known reason.  Episodic.  "Post hoc, ergo propter hoc" translates as "after this therefore because of this" ; one of the classic fallacies.  Don't confuse timing with causation.

The placebo effect can be very, very powerful too.

Anyone know info on the sudden closing of Gibbs? I would go in about once a week and it wasn't bad. Went in one day and they were pretty busy, came back a couple days later and the place was empty. Seems they had a captive customer base with St Vincents etc.

I hate seeing my dining options diminish.

Weird...I live three blocks away, and walk by there twice a day. Never really seemed busy enough to pay for overhead, let alone make a profit...

I hope International Grill can do something 2 doors down...

I too hate when my dining options diminish, but, I can't say I was ever impressed with Gibbs...

Certainly it wasn't fine dining or anything special but it was an option where parking was a little easier than the restaurants clustered around Publix. On a few visits the time to get a sandwich was a bit ridiculous...like 20 minutes.

Side note...anyone know what is going into the former Subway space on Lomax?

Does it look like something is going there? It's not going to be vacant anymore?
That's nice!

I've heard vague talk of another coffee shop going in there, but don't know for sure.  Kind of silly if true, with 5 Points Coffee and Spice across the street and the coffee and boba place around the corner on Park St.

There is interior work going on now in that space so we should know soon.

I tried Gibbs once and was turned off immediately. I was staying with someone over night at St. Vincent's. At about 6:55, I decided to go down to the cafeteria or sandwich shop and grab dinner...I got to the cafeteria and learned they had just closed at 7 p.m. I walked across the street to Gibbs - lights still on, open sign still on, a few people seated and eating...nothing told me they were closed. I walk up to the counter to order and at about five after seven, they said they were closed and wouldn't be able to help me out.

If you were located across from a major hospital where all of the food outlets closed at 7, wouldn't a smart business owner stay open until 8? I decided to not go back after that. The atmosphere lacked anyway.

Honestly, that entire little "strip mall" right there is strange and lacking. I really wish they would have just built what the original plan called for (with condos/apartment/offices above ground floor retail). The design and concept fit more with the neighborhood.
