The owners of Gibbs were heavily involved in the pyramid marketing known as Mona Vie.

What's that? I see those stickers all over a bunch of SUVs in town...I thought for sure it was like Salt Life or something.

Is it a product?

I think it might be a cult or a pyramid marketing scheme.  I guess those are the same things though ;)

Its weight loss shakes/ meal replacements I think.

It's a pyramid scheme centered around the selling of juice made from the acai berry.

It was a great concept until the people in the higher tier decided to change the rules and how the pyramid works, then they just take all the money at the last minute.

The actual product itself works well, but its reputation was merely destroyed by the very people who were greedy and hell-bent on making more money from it.

None of the so called benefits were scientifically proven and the CEO was involved in a another miracle drink scam before Monavie.

There is nothing great about multi-level marketing schemes.

It may not be scientifically proven, but how do you explain someone I knew so much who suffered 5+ years of lupus and got on this stuff, and now she is practically walking around today. Another group I know who have autistic kids who got on this stuff, and boom those kids are active and pushing beyond their limitations.

So you're saying you've seen first hand Monavie cure autism & lupus?!  :o

Nope, I never said MonaVie cured them. I did explain that they ingested this stuff that gives them the energy, motivation, nutritions, or all of the above to allow them live beyond their limitations.

Must be the same stuff that Paul McCartney was selling in the video for "Say, Say, Say".

Josh what you're talking about is scientifically nothing more than placebo effect. It's been proven that the antioxidants in Mona Vie that are ingested have miniscule effect on the body. It's has about as much chance of curing these diseases that have gotten the better of the medical community as a can of red bull.

Are you sure you didn't get these anecdotes during a Mona Vie sales pitch?

In fact, I do hate the whole MonaVie. I have been a victim of it.

One thing I cannot explain is my real friend was bed-ridden from having the lupus for few years. How the hell did she go from bed-ridden to walking around? She used to be very dynamic in her gymnastic in her younger days. How can you explain that? Oh some placebo effect?

I am saying the only fact. My real friend was bed-ridden from having the lupus. How the hell did she go from bed-ridden to walking around? How can you explain that? Oh some placebo?

I would believe this was a medical miracle or act of god before I put my faith a miracle drink buried in a pyramid scheme that was scientifically proven to have no substantial nutritional value.

Regardless of your post update - my position remains. Explain how Mona Vie cured your friend?

Again, I honestly don't know. I cannot answer to that question. I just simply state few facts. I don't care about MonaVie. We should go back to the original topic of this thread which is explaining why Gibbs Sub closed down.

It is clearly that Mr. Gibbs didn't know how to run an effective business as a result of his business closing down or he must perfectly have a good reason. I used to work for a sign company that does his signages. Last time I heard, there was a dispute between Larry Giants Subs and Mr. Gibbs since he used to own a franchise with Larry Giants Sub, then he created his own, copying all the Larry's standards of practice.
