The Above Photos were of the Northwest Corner of the School (College St) Approach to School.  They reveal the corner , as it was so overgrown , the wall was covered with Virginia Creeper as is alot of the Rear of the building ,with that ,and Ferns.   A Couple of the Photos show the North Entrance to the School , one after pruning to open it up and the second showing the landing and stairs after it was cleared of debris.

Most of the Front has been Cleared and Trimmed.  There are the Large tall Palms yet to be trimmed.  Joan assisted , in a big way today, and trimmed across the front ,right of the capital and all the way down the Chelsea side of the building .  Its really starting to come out of hiding.   On the Left side of the Capital ,is a large wild cherry tree, to come down , various scraggly palm trees, and two cottonwood trees at the North Corner, and a good bit of Virginia Creeper to come off of the front of the Building , Left of Capital and on part of the Capital.    It will then , once again be CLEARLY visible from I-95. :) Then we go to the back and clear all of that . :)  Its been a fun project so far.  Many thanks to Joan and Linda, and Jimmy for their efforts and assistance. :)

What a HUGE IMPROVEMENT!! These pictures honestly made me smile, that you all care enough to take time out of your weekends to clean that area up.

I'd love to see pictures from inside the school when it was still open, but alas all I've ever been able to find are the post-closure pictures with graffiti and litter everywhere.

Hee Hee!
Designed by Klutho it was called "Riverside School", So if you do an in depth photo search that is what to look for.

That picture I have seen, but I'd love to see what the inside looked like. I'm kinda guessing, a little West Riverside Elementary mixed with Robert E. Lee/Andrew Jackson. The overly painted moldings and corners rounded off and painted over, with a worn look. That's my guess lol.

I have been in contact with Mr. Milne, I have sat with him in person for hours discussing Annie Lytle, I have organized and set forth a plan of action to restore this school and USE it for something positive.

Tim mentioned almost two months ago on JaxOutloud, meeting a young man who had a plan.

I would like it to be known I am that young man, and the plan, the vision, the dream... whatever you may call it... is still being worked on!

For this plan to work... we are going to need the community behind us! The entire city of Jacksonville!!!

I am interested in holding a meeting in which anyone interested in the RESTORATION of PS4 is invited.

Tim, I'm sure I can count on you and Paul to be there... and I would like for anyone else interested to also come.

Saying nothing bad about Mr. Milne because I believe he is a great man... I think if we truly want to see it saved, we sit down, throw out ideas, and we take control of it. Once you sit with me, you'll better understand what it is we plan to do!

Let's begin discussing a date and a time?
