What happened yesterday in Memorial Park?

Around sunset the area was flooded with cops.  Any details?

I saw a hipster getting arrested over by Al's around 6:30.  The cops weren't really saying much about what happened.  It sounded like the guy was just causing a scene and probably yelling at people, he was probably drunk...

Actually, didn't the City Council pass that ordinance prohibiting hipster behavior within the vicinity of Downtown on non-Artwalk days?

Go around TSI sometime- you'd think a PBR truck had overturned or something.

They are still in Riverside although I understand they were spraying for them for a while.

Oh no.  This is a different brand of hipster/indie kid.  Perhaps my terminology was off.  This was the quazi-homeless, military-ish vest with patches on it, cut off skinny jeans, dark chucktaylors, huge guages and dreadlocks kind.  He probably weighed about 220.  The cops were definitely having a tough time with him.

I just loved how many people were stopping to take pictures as this guy was getting smashed into the side of a cop car.  He had to have been causing significant trouble for some time.

PBR is awesome

They should probably start spraying again. The weather's getting warmer, and you know how fast they breed. It's about this time of year when they start putting birds on things.

I saw the same group!  They looked like extras in Mad Max.  Is this the new look?  Are they homeless?  Why did they have so many dogs?

Dog Walker

Local JSO officer says that they were part of a Rainbow group that was camping rough in the Ocala Forest and came here when they were rousted out of there.  He ran them out of 5 Points when they started panhandling.  Shop owners also asked them to leave their shops because of their smell.

I think I saw part of the group downtown a couple of days ago.
When all else fails hug the dog.

Captain Zissou

They probably just headed into town a few days early for Artwalk.  I swear, the people you see at Artwalk have to commute from somewhere, because I never see them other than one day a month.

DW, care to elaborate on 'Rainbow group' and 'camping rough'?  I've vaguely familiar with Rainbow what nots and all, but not very.

I ran into them Saturday when they asked me for money in the Publix parking lot. They then went into Starbucks doing the same. They weren't real aggressive, but I can't attest to their smell.

They are an Atlanta fixture as well, particularly around Little Five Points.
