Not informed people, but their vote counts too!

He is only candidate to come out against Sharia law in Jacksonville. He sounds like the right man for the job.

but that's a New England and Europe problem...we don't have to deal with it in the south  ;)

What part of New England I wonder...must be somewhere in the mountains of Vermont.

Has the story been picked up by one of the local TV news outlets? Or are they more concerned with stories about privacy settings on Facebook and dual doppler weather every 2 minutes?

OMG this is the craziest story of the week.  That is hilarious.  Mike Hogan for tax collector!

I think we all need to start praying for God's will to happen because surely it isn't in His will for Hogan to be mayor of a city of close to a million people.  I'm actually serious, sadly.

Did you also notice in the TU story about how the crowd cheered when Hogan made those comments? That's what's scary. Folks in our town support a person who gives that kind of talk.

It's the right wing talk radio crowd. This is the same crowd that asked about Sharia Law.

Even if he had blown up 10 abortion clinics this city would still vote him in...look at our governor...this city claims to be oh so christian yet they vote thieving immoral people to lead...we deserve what we get.

keeping it classy in Duval County apparently.

Ignorance begets ignorance.  Especially in certain parts of these parts.

This election will be a test of how much clout the social conservatives have in this city.  If a certain dowtown church truly owns Jacksonville, they will have enough folks out there to throw their support behind Hogan.

This is one member of a certain downtown church, that will NOT be voting for Hogan! dont think that everyone who goes there blindly follows.

^^Absolutely. As a staunch pro-lifer, I believe this kind of rhetoric actually hurts the pro-life cause. In promoting a culture of life I believe it's important people avoid demonizing people. Even though I disagree with pro-choice and pro-abortion proponents, they have an inherent dignity by virtue that they are people just as I believe an unborn child has inherent dignity. Pro-choice advocates need to be treated with charity while being shown why we need to defend life. And when you think about it whose argument is more convincing? Mike Hogan blasting an "awful decision by an awful court" and cracking jokes about bombing abortion clinics or Mike Mullaney's statement about his daughter's premature birth solidifying his pro-life stance?

I know who has my vote.
