It is our duty to protect our naked ladies.

And there are many of them.

Condemned houses sitting vulnerable, in every quadrant and on all streets throughout the neighborhood.

If you would like to join Preservation SOS in keeping a watchful eye on these at-risk houses, volunteer to become a "Preservation Guardian".

Duties:

Monitor activies around condemned properties on your block

Call in to WeCare any issues,

904-335-8767 (335-8SOS) and leave a message

Volunteer to keep lawn mowed and trash picked up, if possible, or arrange a community clean up to do it.

Record the house with photos and the 4 point checklist (or meet with us to do it with you)

and post on our forum:

Sign up below or PM any Preservation sos board member.

It will take all of us to protect these gals.

Are block captains assisting you with any of this?

There are so many Springfielders that are already (humbly and quietly,) doing much of this on their block.  The SOS weCare hotline and 4-point checklist with photos is the added piece.

Let's talk Golden Heart.  Yup.  Many of you received and/or requested a red heart for your support of preservation in Historic Springfield.  Well, we are ready to give out GOLDEN Hearts to our Preservation Guardians.  You know you want one.  Let us know, and it will be delivered.

We thank you for everyone's continued support.

Contact was made with the Block Captains, but it seems as though they are reconfiguring themselves.  While they are in the process of doing that, we'll move forward and will see if we can combine efforts down the road.

Nicole, I hear ya.

I'm already working on Stenodave's heart. Whether he knows it or not, :o he is already a Preservation Guardian and the recipient of our first "golden heart."

If you know of anyone else who deserves a golden heart, PM me. I'll get on it!

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY concur and commend your ideas..  But it is not just these beautiful homes that need our attention and guarding... it is Places such as Annie Lytle School (Public School Number Four)  Fire Station #5 ,  and many many other very endangered historic buildings , that our current administration and ,very possibly some other Mayoral canidates  would have all destroyed.... We MUST stop this insanity ..ALL OF IT .. we cannot continue to let our Historic Neigborhoods ,and landmarks fall because of greed, and senseless ,poor leadership in City Management that has been on-going for DECADES.

I am and as long as I am breathing AM WILLING to do anything I can do to help any area of town when it comes to helping to preserve these beautiful pieces.
