I'm not the only one.
But here is this week's (9/13/10) email:

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to those of you involved in the efforts to remove the "ash site zone" from the property record cards.  I look forward to positive resolution to this issue; specifically a first step at tomorrow evenings council meeting.

While I anticipate tipping my hat to those of you involved in remedying the ash concerns, I want to remind you of Preservation SOSs efforts to protect our historic homes.  We continue to contact owners of homes that are endangered and work with them to clean-up, board and secure properly, and find resolution with the city.  But we can not do this alone.  I ask again for you to put a halt on ALL demolitions in Historic Springfield so that we may take the time to revisit policies in place in an effort to rework a solution to protect our homes.

Thank you for your time.

For the week of 9/13

Saving Our Springfield

Hello Everyone,

A picture paints 1,000 words.  I encourage you to find "Preservation SOS" on Facebook.  There are lots of photos of good things that are happening in Springfield posted there.

Councilmember Webb, thank you for taking the initiative to have a noticed meeting this week regarding Jeff Waltz's property at 423 Walnut Court.  God willing, his house will be spared.  And know that it is not just Jeff's house, it is all of the others too.  Every house, on every street, in every quadrant, is important to Historic Springfield.

Recently we worked (and continue to work,) with the owner of 1626 Ionia Street to clean and protect the home.  Have you seen this home?  I've attached 3 before pictures for you, and 1 "work in progress" photo.  1626 Ionia is absolutely gorgeous.  It has a FULL basement!  We need to save this home too, as it is on the formal track for demolition.

In these difficult economic times, the policies in place to destroy our historic homes need to be revisited to PROTECT the historic homes we have left.  No more bulldozers.

Thank you for your support.
