From what I understand, horizontal work at 200 Riverside is commencing....and vertical construction will begin around the end of the year

Still not much going on save the Courthouse...and it's coming along quite nicely, but, I still don't like it.

Glad to see 200 Riverside moving forward!  And the Wolfson's hospital tower should be comming out of the dirt soon as well.

Intuition Ale Works

Just wanted to give everyone an update since there is a picture of our construction on this thread.

We will be completing the brewery by September 30th. Hope to brew our first batch of People's Pale Ale soon after that and will release our beers by the end of October.

Have received our Federal Brewers Permit and will get our Florida permit next week. Can't brew beer for sale until you receive both.

Our taproom will open in the middle of November and will be open 4 days a week and will have 12 beers on tap.
We will be selling quart and gallon growlers to go in addition to kegs.
We also are in discussions with a couple of local restaurants about selling there "wares" during taproom hours.

Can't wait to be a part of King Street and the Riverside brewing district!

Cheers,

Ben

What is up with the new fountain in Avondale?  What is that?

Are the other intersections along Laura going to be as much of a tank-trap as the roundabout?  If so, my east-west travel thru DT will be on State/Union. I'm sure the auto repair shops that do front-end work are loving it!

Am I the only one who doesn't think that the roundabout on Laura is that bad?  It is bumpy but it's not like your suspension is going to fall off.  Think of how many similar small bumps you hit while going 45 down San Jose or whatever.  It centainly does slow down the traffic in that area.

+1.

Also - I remember reading somewhere else in the forums that 200 Riverside is going to look nothing like its original incarnation?  How far off will the final product be?  Enough to elicit another 'ho-hum' reaction?

No, you're not the only one.  I purposely drove it the other day just to see what all the fuss was about.  It's bumpy so cars slow down.  Duh - works exactly as intended.

Love the Round about. First rule in making an area more pedestrian friendly slow the cars down.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one!  So far I have mostly seen people bitching about it.  My only beef is that they could have put a small concrete strip around the outside for skinny tire cyclists.
