From what I understand, horizontal work at 200 Riverside is commencing....and vertical construction will begin around the end of the year

This would be great news.  I thought 200 Riverside was dead in the water.

I heard that the city is starting work to put in a storm drain system on Forest between Riverside and Park.  Looks like they have already started work, tearing up some of the landscaped median where Forest meets Riverside.

What makes me laugh is that a courthouse with hundreds of people going there a day doesn't need a parking lot, but a little boutique has to have parking with probably only 25 at most customers per day. Something doesn't add up here.

The courthouse has a multi-story garage on Forsyth Street.  Been open for a couple years, with the City subsidizing the operator because the CH did not open with the garage.

Yeah but what I'm saying is that the CH had no specific parking space when being designed. Luckily there is the parking garage you mentioned for CH parking. Meanwhille a lot of business's that the city doesn't own is required to have a specific parking space.

actually the courthouse did have a parking requirement...the garage was built with the purpose of serving the courthouse...it just opened first because of all the courthouse delays

I was on lunch break yesterday and noticed some work and treaty oak park? Has anybody heard anything about it.

They are revamping the park.  It's completely fenced off now.

Someone NEEDS to get over to Atlantic Blvd @ Kings Ave today and take some pictures of the construction.  Most of the work is being done on the back side of the building, opposite Atlantic blvd.  They have moved the entrance and put in a huge awning.  It looks great, but I haven't heard anything about the project.

Went by Kings and Atlantic the other day.  It deffinately seems they have moved the main entrance to the back of the building (south wall).  They have built the covered porch as mention, and there are multiple openings in the south wall that are temporarily boarded.  Not sure if those are existing or new.  They have cut 2 openings in the east wall of the building, looks like they might be small windows.

Seems like the church might be reusing this building, moving the entrance to face the church.  I'm not so sure this construction is going to end up being a "plus" for the area.  Hopefully they do something good to dress up the sides that face King and Atlantic.

Thats what I was wondering too. It has been mentioned anywhere that it was being revamped, but it indeed it. We need to revamp confederate park and clean up Hogan's creek. That the most important thing.
