QuoteI95 commuters and passers through will easily get the impression that construction and progress is alive and well in Jax.

If only they knew what was going on under that bridge every Saturday..... ;)

Funny picture aside...

Quoting what was posted in another (unrelated) thread. But raises an interesting point. What would it take to get an electronic road sign put at the I-95 NB park street exit to advertise RAM (and maybe some signage leading to RAM once you get off of at the exit.)

I know that Renfair has signs down south (mind you that's not a weekly thing). But it definitely caught my eye when I was driving on 95 down there and saw the sign. I don't imagine it would cost much to rent one.

Imagine how much patronage it might bring in from people hitting the road headed north!

The area needs an official name first. It can be used for more than the Art Market. Unless that is what they are going to call it. "Jax Art Market?"

Unless it is a mjor event, I doubt they'll put something up on 95.

It has an official name.  'Riverside Art Market'.

It just seems like such a small and simple step to help the local economy. People driving out of state in the morning don't even know that RAM exists. It's a good opportunity to funnel money from Canadians headed back north before they escape our wretched hive of sun and humidity. And of course there's the hilariously confusing process of getting back on I-95 north.

It isn't confusing if people would pay attention to the signage that clearly points the way to the freeway.

Seems to me that if the city is willing to pony up funds for a sweet new dock (what's the status, btw?), that some type of signage would be in order.....I'm all for something gaudy & nostalgic!  At least grab the closest billboards(s).

If this thing gets any bigger, they'll ahve to find a bigger location, or expand it over more areas of Riverside or Brooklyn.

I thought the plan was to expand up underneath the overpass to the north on the other side of Riverside Ave?

There is a plan to expand north under the overpass to link up with Riverside Park.

I think one of those brown cultural attraction signs could be great.

MetroJax knows as much as anyone about how to get freeway signs changed!

reednavy

Expand north and be beside the onramp and those stank retention ponds?

I'd rather it move than be around those nasty pools of crap.

The rules for that get really weird. I can't make heads or tails of them

9a is my backyard

What about using the permanent digital traffic update signs that are already in place?  Their location isn't ideal as they're not close to the exit (at least going NB), but I've seen them programmed for TPC, Jags, etc.
