Went to Jimmy John's in San Marco last night, they're definitely working out some kinks still.  By the time the girl at the counter finished ringing me up (finally), my sandwich was already made.

that's just because they are super fast  :D

^ The people making the sandwiches are very fast, but the girl at the register gave them quite the head start.

I can give this place a rock solid "meh", it was absolutely a sandwich. I guess I hope they do well for their employees but I don't see myself going back.

Firehouse's Italian ftw!

You can't have an Italian sub with Honey Ham - It doesn't work.  Larry's has the best NY Deli subs in the area (for a chain) hands down.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

I went to a Jimmy John's in downtown Orlando last year and was looking forward to locations in Jacksonville. The ones here are definitely not nearly as good. It's just ok. I would rather support a local chain like Firehouse or Larry's.

How reliable are your sources?? Is there a one sub per person limit??

Jimmy John's deffinately wins hands down on speed.  I used to go in Gainesville every now and then and more often than not my sub was ready before I had finished paying.  They also did lightning fast delivery there.  Now the sandwich... meh.  The Italian Nightclub is the only one I think is decent.  I think the big problem is their bread, its super tough.  Firehouse hands down any day.

Not even a $1 sub would get me to go back to Jimmy John's. Served fast & boring : /
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

I think its just two sandwiches, but yes they are offering it one per person tomorrow until 3pm.

I second everyone's love of Larrys.  Went twice yesterday alone, lol.

Larry's uses the best products in Jacksonville- I'll explain if needed

Hi- I was just looking at an old post and couldn't help but comment.
It was a sub sandwich post where you mentioned Larry's Giant Subs.
They are not a deli, but a sub shop they are-i suspect the mustard issue is that they have spicy brown mustard like guldens and national deli, and also the yellow sissy mustard that is the number one in the south. They are instructed to inform the customers because most people in the south will send the sandwich back if it is the wrong mustard. Also F.Y.I. your comment about the meat quality is truly uninformed. I used to be in the industy and I can tell you that Larry's uses the finest quality available- take for instance the roast beef- you probably hold Boars Head to a high standard although this Marketing company actually makes few of it's products- the Boars head roast beef is top round 10% injected with filler-while the Larry's is U.S.D.A. Choice Certified Angus Top Round with 0% INJECTION! Truly a superior product- Also Larry uses and expensive organic chicken breast and the Turkey is a 2 piece muscle turkey while most other places use a 5 to seven peice glued and formed turkey. I could go on but no need to just happened upon your post and wanted to reply
thanks

Sounds like someone has some motivation to pimp Larry's.....

Jimmy

The only thing I like from Larry's is the chicken salad.  For all else, a quick stop by Subway or, better yet, Firehouse is my preference.

Oh, and Rmacus, your bias here is pretty transparent.  You work for and/or have a financial stake in Larry's.  We get it.

Rmacus

I can see your conclusions-I worked for national meat company, so I know what shops are using-My family owned Arts Hoagy Hut- it's in my blood.
