QuoteThe Axemen are very aware of the effect the current economic climate has had not only on businesses but also the average sports fan. After conducting a survey of their fan base to ask a variety of questions to guage what was important and what changes should be made, they have tried to deliver as many wishes as possible with the 2010 plan. The biggest is that this years season tickets will start at just $20 and game-day walk up price will remain just $5.

Spinner Howland commented on a few of the items mentioned, "We asked about the $1 beer and most of our fans said although it was not a big deal to them if we increased the price a little, it was a huge selling point when they tried to convince their friends and new fans to attend our games. With our limited marketing budget, if this helps our supporters bring more fans to our games then it is a great investment to stick to the $1 beer."

The Axemen will also be keeping their current merchandise items at low prices but they will also be adding an item that is specific for the female fans. "The ladies who attend our games have asked for something for them so we are looking at something like a baby doll shirt or cami-tanktop", Spinner said.

They are looking at making half-time more interactive, increasing the explanation of the sport via the game day announcements to help the novice fan and also looking at ways to cater to the children who attend the games with their families buy adding Ice-cream to the concessions. "We had a few comments on the skirts worn by the Axe Maiden so we are also going to have new uniforms for them that are more attractive yet a little less revealing. We have really tried to put a check mark beside all the items bought up on the survey", Spinner said.

Kids 12 and under will still be admitted free and as always all fans will be invited to join the team at all post game social events.

Overall the Axemen are trying to increase the number of fans who attend their games by offering more entertainment and in doing so be able to make their events more cost effective for everyone. "We want to be the best value for money sporting entertainment in this city", said Drew Slover. "We have those fans who are looking at us as $5 buys you $1 beers and unlimited violence and those who are looking at it as a great family event that is good value and provides entertainment for everyone. There is no reason we cannot make our events a great afternoon of sporting entertainment for everyone. Ask anyone who has been to our games and they will all tell you it was the best $5 they ever spent.

We are also added a remote/international supporter pack and a donation option for those fans who do not live in Jacksonville but want to support the team.

Tickets are now on sales by clicking on the ticket tab at the top of the Axemen site.

I am telling you it is a blast.  You will love it.  They are a good team and only lost one match... the championship final in NY.

New uniforms for the Axe Maidens that are more attractive yet less revealing? Like what? A burka? Is this a Muslim rugby league??? LOL

Seriously, what's this country coming to? You can't even show a  little T&A without the puritans getting their chastity belts in a knot. Violent sports are okay, but don't let me see that ass cleavage! Won't somebody puhleasse think about the children!

Priceless.

(I'll still go tho...rock on Axemen...)

They polled their fan base and that is what they asked for.  Got to give them credit for asking their fans what they want.

RockStar

Yah, well said. You missed the point.
