My GF and I packed a picnic dinner and saw ET as well. It had been so long since I saw it that it was liking watching the movie for the first time.

The whole event seemed very well executed. We thought wouldn't it be great if this was done in one of the Springfield parks.

Really? Hmmm

I wonder how they pick these films? JaxConfidential you seem close to the situation, how do they go about picking them?

It would be nice if "drinks" were sold for the people who do not have kids. I wouldnt mind a cranberry & vodka in a plastic cup while chillin on my blanky.

They dont seem to use those Springfield parks much. Even when this site states it is the city's central park. I like Treaty Oak Park though its been 250 years old since 1999........

Anyone going to this years Movies in the Park?

Curious to know what film would bring out the crowds.

This is actually an AWESOME lineup.  Shrek is the family movie, and the other three are perfect date movies, Back to the Future more for the guys, and the other two more for the women (which is I guess how life works - two for you honey, and one for me).

Steve

Hope it's not too confusing, but since we had two threads on the EXACT same thing, I merged them into one.

Seriously?  I've seen them all a few times each.

Don't make poor Coolyfelt feel bad :)

With that said, I've seen Breakfast at Tiffany's the least - three times I think!

I like the events, and don't want to look a gift horse in the mouth but...

but couldn't a better slate of movies be picked?

If we want to attract people downtown, let's have some films that attract newbies to downtown.

Casablanca
Star Wars
Raiders of the Lost Ark
12 Angry Men
To Kill A Mockingbird
Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Classics, none of which are rated R - and would bring a better crowd, I'd suspect.  We'll see how turnout is this month - I hope we can pull off a spring and autumn version of this event!

I hear ya man. Wouldnt mind seeing Tim Burtons Batman at one of these.
Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Jurasic Park
Remember the Titans
Napolian Dynamite
Karate Kid
The Lion King

Just some flicks adults and kids may like.
