So, you think the crime rate now is higher than it was 20 years ago?  This is not at all the case:

I am amazed by the attorney's statements that are defending the animal who committed this crime.

By the way who is the individual in the middle in the picture above?  The youth of the face makes it hard to identify.

This is a shame and travesty what happened to this man. A stark and real indication of what our world and society has become.  No order, discipine, or any semblance of righteousness whatsoever; everything portends or reveals itself as evil, dark, black and out of control.  At least he lived, but now he has to go through the rest of his life without his sight, and will have to wait to again DJ if he still wants to pursue that.  I hope Leon is happy when someone "might" gouge his eyes out in prison; I am not wishing this on him, but what goes around comes around.

The people in the photo are Deanna Thompson, Pat Lolly, and Kalani.

Look at the 80's fashion and the "buffant" 80's hairdo's; classic "Iola era" dress, fashion and hair.

I'm with you, HU. No punishment could be too harsh for the person who committed this atrocity.

To be honest, I wonder what the hell is with people over there.

Brutal violent drug related crimes have been going on in Riverside for decades.

You NEVER hear about things like this in San Marco or Ortega.

It's all about demographic.....'profile'.I was chased out of my once idyllic native North Miami due to the same dynamic. We are not allowed to voice this outlook.

Thanks for the update, Stephen.  This guy has a lot of guts and class.

Thanks for the update on Tony,Stephen.
Many Riverside residents had a ringside seat that July 4th with many of us realizing for the first time that the helicopter that shines lights into our yards on a normal basis, was actually 3 or 4 owned by JSO.
I wish there was video from that surreal night..it looked like a Hollywood movie scene with Swat Team uniformed Militarized JSO everywhere. Of course on July 5th the morning Tony got assaulted...JSO if asked knew nothing.
There was also an obvious news black out. We had to hear about Anthony Blakely through MetroJax.

Uh Stephan..Kilani got gouged in the AM of July 5th if I'm not mistaken. That would be the night/morning of the riot.
Correct my dates if I'm wrong.
Anyway in Jacksonville it's all just water under the bridge.

I stand by my questions at the time:

"
Re: Riot In Riverside! July 4th riot brings mayhem.
« Reply #19 on: July 05, 2008, 03:43:44 PM »Quote Modify Remove What riot?  How much property damage is out there this morning?  What shooting?  The police involved shooting was in Arlington.  What police mis-steps?  Your quote:
"Dane, a neighborhood resident reports that the problem began when the police over reacted to crowd density on the streets.

They felt there were more people than they would be able to handle in case of a problem, and so they started telling people to back off the streets and sidewalks."

gives "Dane" omnipotent knowledge of how this incident began and what the police were thinking.   Was he privy to the initial calls for police service?  Does he have insight into the mind of each Police Officer?  What was his location for such an observation?  How is he biased?  Where did you obtain the number of one thousand people?  From what I have heard, this was a rap concert where a bunch of juveniles got out of hand and were dispersed by the police.  It happens almost every weekend in Jax.

And by the way, I am always amazed when I hear reports such as these how experienced Officers "get real nervous" and over react, while the (usually juvenile) suspects who are causing a police response stay completely calm.  How many injuries to these young "innocents" were caused by these over reacting, nervous Officers? "

Are you now claiming that Mr. Blakely's injuries were due to a "riot"?  Can (or will) you answer any of the questions I asked you at that time?  Do you (or anyone else for that matter) have any evidence of a "news lock down" or "coverup" by the JSO or the City?  If so, where and what is it?

So...you are now claiming that since I didn't mention an assault which had nothing to do with the thread that I don't know what I am talking about.  Anyone can read the thread and get the picture of who said what and when they said it.

"Cop gossip all over the force"???  Really?  It is obvious that any attempt I make to inform you about how law enforcement works is taken as a challenge to argue with me.  It is obvious to me that you think that you have all of the answers on most subjects.  There is no need for me to address you with any facts.  I'll just let all the other posters here know the factual information.  You just go on with whatever it is you do.

So it is your belief that the incidents are related?  How?  Explain to us why this was not an issue in the trial?  You know, the one where the criminal who beat him and robbed him of his sight was convicted?  Where all of the facts were spelled out?  I don't know how you guys missed all of this, it WAS national news.

The incidents are not related.  "Mayhem"? is in the eye of the beholder.  It is a vague word.

His "body" was alive.  You should say "He was found a couple of blocks away".

I will leave you to "breathlessly" discuss this conspiracy with anyone else who can make sense of it.
