Howdy, Metro Jacksonville. The site looks great. I joined a few years back using the same handle on the old MetJax board. Last night, I ran into some of the moderators and decided to recreate my profile.

Previously I've lived in Riverside and Springfield and currently reside in lovely Saint Nicholas. For three and a half years, I worked and lived outside of Jacksonville, and returned last summer after my last newspaper employer did me the favor of "rightsizing" me out of a job.

My family's been here for a few generations and I love this town, mostly because it seemed like the biggest city in the world when I was growing up in Bradford County. Perhaps I'll lurk more than post, but I'm glad to see so many folks who care about Jax.

Hello newzgrrl and welcome back to Jacksonville! I've been here 5.5 yrs. I grew up in Seattle and moved all over then came here from Phoenix. It took me a while to slow down my pace enough to enjoy it, but now I love the small town feel. There's a lot of great stuff on the forums, so hope to see your posts.
