Define "cool" ?

Oh, define "kids" too while yer at it   ;D

They certainly don't hang out in the Wal Mart parking lot, 'cause thank goodness there isn't one!! :) :)

It was merely a trite joke to pull the rattlesnakes out of their holes. One was actually hoping to find place in the five points, where one could relax, perhaps get a nice cup of java, perhaps banter upon philosophy, and core urban planning. That it is all.

Hovan has a nice outdoor patio with the perfect people watching angle. Walkers on King St. for drinks and conversation is always good. Kickbacks has amazing food and is always packed with interesting people. The bar at European St. has great ambiance and good banter.

In fact, most of the places in Riverside have what you describe, I guess it just depends on the day and time and the clientele at that moment.

You sure you can't find that at the Starbucks? Maybe give it another try :)

I think it is overwhelmimgly obvious that the cool kids hang at Metrojacksonville.com for coffee and conversation of core urban planning.

David

The best choice convenience store on Stockton & Oak. They're always debating what the conscious mind is or if we really have free will when I go in there.

DavidWilliams

Disagree David. It is the convenience store at my corner (Timuquana area) where extensive thought and philosophical conversation occurs. Well, that and a lot of blunt buying.  :)

On a more serious note...Chamblin's downtown has potential.

You are the Crown of Creation
and you've got no place to go.

Soon you'll attain the stability you strive for
in the only way that it's granted
in a place among the fossils of our time.

In loyalty to their kind
they cannot tolerate our minds.
In loyalty to our kind
we cannot tolerate their obstruction.

Life is Change
How it differs from the rocks
I've seen their ways too often for my liking
New worlds to gain
My life is to survive
and be alive
for you.

Thanks for the sound advice. FYI, I was a master blunt maker back in the day. I was trained on the finest of fine corners, to be exact on Post and King (not talking about the Park Place either). Jacksonville has quite a rich and deep blunt making history. One you can't find by scourging the internet like a ninny. I remember Lord Gustavus Adolphus, great grandfather of Mayor J D, he crafted one of the longest blunts ever in all of history. It spanned from what you would call today the SJTC, to the Fountain of Youth in Memorial Park. I miss Lord Gustavus, he would put you all to grand shame. I could smell his blunt for miles and miles. At the beach, at the JIA, Fort Caroline, you name the place, and I bet you could smell it there. The smell encompassed all of Jacksonville and was reported to be smelled in even Seoul.

To the user who suggests that I dare walk in modern day downtown:

I will not put my feet under the intense stress of walking across one of the great Jacksonville bridges to this Chamberlains place. I was hoping to acquire a Five Points specific venue. I am trying to clean up this area, restaurant by restaurant, barista by barista. Such as today, I went into Sushi Cafe and I argued with the manager. I mean how can you name your restuarant a cafe and not sell sandwiches? How would you liked it if I named my new restaurant coffee shop and sold no coffee? Unless sandwich in Japanese is sushi. Anyways, the manager luckily wised up and brought over some Quiznos to my table. Don't be surprised if you see the name of Sushi Cafe change to Sushi ¬Cafe.

Anyways. If you see me, I will probably see you. I like to stare at people eating at Al's. Sometimes I'll beg for change and tap on the window. This once led me to get into a scuffle with a few Police-brothers but I managed to run away to Memorial Park and swam into the river until I reached the United Kingdom. Do you know they speak English there? Now you know.
