QuoteAccording to the local news... they killed her for... $40 and a pizza...

Actually no, these two knumbskulls committed the same crime the night before, where they STOLE the 40 bucks and a pizza. For Ms. Hotham, she was not robbed nor did she give up the cash. Perhaps if she had, she would still be alive. Many JSO would rather turn over their wallet in such an event, because you can replace everything in the wallet, you can't replace life.

I'd like to see some Texas style justice for these punks, but then Jesse Jackson and his posse would be all over us and we'd get more unwanted attention. Nice to know that if you use your mothers cell phone, the police can trace it back to you later.

Thanks for the correction... I got my "facts" from the local evening news... ::)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

No sweat, Diane Cho of Channel 4 did the most thorough job, but I was in talks with the TU beat writer and I had to show how this took place NOT in Murray Hill, but west of it.

I wish something more could be done for the safety of delivery drivers. I delivered in this area for quite a while for a small chain. Since they're not one of the larger chains, they didn't have a 'no weapon" policy like dominos, pizza hut and papa johns do. Most of my co-workers suggested being armed when going to some of the darker sides of our area, but I decided to you know, just get a different job instead.

No one's life is worth 5 bucks an hour, tips and gas reimbursement. Plus, those car-toppers they make delivery drivers sport only advertises they're a cash register on wheels.

Some people will tip a server 15-20% of the bill for bringing food from the kitchen to your table but only give the pizza guy or lady a buck or two for using their own vehicle and as you see, risking their life.

This area's claimed the lives of a few delivery people, it's sad.

Title of the thread should probably be Police Arrest Alleged Killers of Pizza Delivery Woman. Sad no matter how you slice it (promise that wasn't an intentional pun), but I've gotta withhold judgement on these guys until they are tried by a jury of their peers. If they are found guilty, let them rot in prison for the rest of their lives. But until then...

"The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said earlier that Hartley admitted he shot Hotham with Sams' gun." that was on the firstcoastnews.com web site.
my soul was removed to make room for all of this sarcasm

Guess this means nothing
Quotepolice traced the cell phone used to call Domino's on both nights to Hartley's mother, Yvonne, who told police she allowed her son to use the phone. She gave police that information after arriving at a scene where police had stopped Hartley and Sams Sunday night.
Quotea description of Hotham's killer from homicide detectives. That description included at least one suspect wearing a dark, zip-up type hoodie jacket. Sams, who was wearing the described jacket, ran from the group and was ordered to stop by police. An officer felt what appeared to be a gun on his right side and Sams began pulling away. The officer wrestled him to the ground and Sams said, "Sorry man, it's a gun," the arrest report said.
Let alone that there's been a confession....

Darn right it'll be used against them in court, and hopefully it'll help to keep them off the streets for life...since it's rare that anyone gets the death penalty anymore, and even if they did, it would still be life behind bars. Which is exactly where these scum bags need to be.

This thread is hilarious.  Not the crime and death but the silly grade school squabbling that has this thing up to five pages now.  I don't know whether to laugh or cry. :-\

Since I'm not Tebow, I'll laugh. :D
