Need to go to Rowe's as well. I went to the one on Beach and University while it was open and they had a great selection of stuff but for whatever reason, there was an infestation of flies over by the deli/bakery and it kinda grossed me out.

As for Winn-Dixie? Love 'em. We usually either go to Town & Country or the one on Roosevelt if we're out that way and they're always really nice and clean (the T&C location actually has a fancy cheese bar now). The only soft drinks I buy are the WD brand now, I love their diet sodas and they're criminally cheap. This week it's 5 12 packs for $10 with the card. Plus you get the discount on shell gas.

Hasn't the Town and Country location been closed for years now? I worked there for a couple weeks in college...

Maybe you are thinking of the Lakewood Plaza Winn-Dixie which just added a cheese bar. That's my regular store, until they re-open the Publix on Atlantic and Bartram.

Does anyone know why the town and country winn dixie closed so soon? It opened in 1997 (I remmeber vividly because I was 15 and tried to get hired) and it closed rather quickly. It wasnt even open for 10 years. That seems to be a waste of time and money.

You're right, it's Lakewood! Duh! I don't know why I was thinking of T&C. We actually did go to that one sometimes though but it was pretty run-down for being a newer location. As for T&C closing? It was closed during the big WD meltdown, where they almost went under. That location did have some real issues though. Towards the end of the store's life there was some type of sewage issue and the entire right side of the store (where the deli and fresh foods were) had this wretched odor. The manager used to hang out over there and apologize to patrons. When I asked him about it, he said something about a big plumbing issue that was never addressed when the store opened and that in order to fix it, they'd have to dismantle the entire deli/hotfood area and dig, so I think that was a big factor in them closing as well.

If Im not mistaken was that former W/D site divided and a Dollar General Store put in part of it?  T&C Shopping Center is pretty tired..
