Most of us have never had to experience going to bed hungry, or not having enough money to buy the food we need to survive. Unfortunately there are millions of people who experience this every single day. Now is your chance to make a difference!

The 18th annual "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive is the largest one-day food drive in the United States, and this year it is on Saturday May 8th. This is a nation wide event, and you should be receiving post cards in your mail this week to remind you. Even if you're not in Jacksonville--you can help a food bank in your area!

The Second Harvest Food Bank has teamed up with the Postal Service to make it SO easy to participate! All you have to do is leave nonperishable food in a sturdy bag by your mailbox on May 8th. Your postman will do the rest of the work!

The Second Harvest Food Bank is located here in Jacksonville, and last year received 325,000 pounds of food from this event, this year they have set their goal at 500,000 pounds and together we CAN make that happen!

Please, everyone take a moment at the grocery store, or in your own pantry to pull out a couple of cans of vegetables or fruit, or anything else that is nonperishable and let's work together to stamp out hunger!!!
