JC

Hi, I lived in Jacksonville for about 10, long hot years.  About two years ago I convinced my family to move to a land far far away, with great public transportation, snow, the worlds best baseball team and pizza.  Unfortunately it didn't last as long as I had hoped since almost all construction work has ground to a halt, so, I am back, for now.

I fell on this site looking for a local indymedia site to take photos for.  Unfortunately I don't think one exists, although I am happy to have found this lively forum.

I am new to this forum as well so I don't quite feel qualified to welcome you, but I certainly appreciate the presence of someone else who is awake at this hour.  It helps me not feel like I'm just talking to myself here.

If you don't mind me asking, to what wonderland did you temporarily relocate?  Your description sounds like either Chicago or New York depending on one's opinion of who has the best baseball team and pizza.

I'm not an official greeter here, but welcome, never the less!

Is this mystery land (snow, pizza, baseball) Chicago? NY? Fort Myers? :D

Welcome aboard JC and Rain... Happy to have you and look forward to your contributions! :)
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I too am not qualified to welcome anyone but I have greatly enjoyed the exchanges here and look forward to you being in the mix, so i will say it anyway... welcome, welcome!

Thanks everyone!

Yes, of course NY.

Rain, I hope last night was just an anomaly, I am usually a 1-2 am-er 4 and change is just waaaay to late for me.

It's a given he's talking about Chicago.  The pizza there is to die for, and even though the Cubs don't win all the time, they are easily the best team in baseball for the experience and fan interaction.

And I'm fairly new as well, so if you're talking about New York, well, we can have a good discussion about the finer points of both cities.

Never too late to reinvent yourself. Dont be afraid to vent on things that bother you about any city. The worlds best baseball team is owned by Pedro Bragan!

I honestly enjoy watching the Suns live more than watching the Yankees.  The tickets are cheap, parking is easy, the boiled peanuts are top notch and the seating is always good, especially on the berm down the third base line.  I do miss the old Wolfson Park, but enjoy the new stadium just the same.

As for talking smack, well, I have thick skin, 4 years in the Marine Corps, 10 years in construction and 3 children, one of which is a teenager!
