sorry i wasn't able to call today.  on call and had to work.  i am working all week but am off friday, which would be the best time for a walk through.  the best time to start will be about 11pm.  the peak time is about 1am.  i will have a very detailed map which will include who belongs here and who doesn't etc.  we (johannes and i) ask that there be no "media" with you.  and for the initial walk around we ask that it be only you.  we have been down this road many times and had our little block turned into a circus and it is very upsetting to our neighbors that have been in this neighborhood for a very long time and we have the utmost respect for them. 
give me a call thursday to firm up the time, if i don't pick up just leave a message as i am probably at work.

Three of us from Main Street, the only people who actually have experience in stopping this kind of behavior successfully offered to help you guys in the coldest part of the winter.

You all talked a good game, but didnt make a single phone call or an overture to at least figure out how to do it yourselves.

But it really is easy, and if you refer back to the last 4 week rant we had about it, you might be able to pick up the thread of it.

So I was watching Cops last night and they were busting up some prostution by putting undercover officers out there and arresting the Johns's..........I've never seen JSO take this approach in SPR.  It would seem to be more effective than ocasionally arresting the HeHo's only to have them released the next day.  The JOhn's have alot more to lose if they get caught.  Things like families and jobs

Per Sgt Short at the Roundtable mtg on Wed, JSO did a john-sting last month, and I recall him indicating they made upwards of 20 arrests including a Lt Col. Don't remember him saying anything about plans to continue (which doesn't mean he didn't, or JSO won't), but that could be cleared up by a question at the next SHADCO mtg.

and the johns do communicate, there is actually an underground site out there that was posted on the old forum a long time ago.  and the activity is NOT done by midnight or 1 am - week days or weekends.  and actually depending on the week, thursdays are heavier than some friday or saturdays - but hey what do i know, they are just having sex in my front yard.  i don't know about the 10's of thousands - we have probably 10 or so regulars and god only knows how many "occasionals" i can get you tag numbers if you would like we also have a data base of those.  there is also a data base with all their (the heho) mug shots.

in theory, an excellent idea.  in reality - not achievable with the resources that we have.  there are about 5 or six of us, "prime areas" are 8th and boulevard, 7th and boulevard, 7th and perry, 8th and perry, 8th and pearl and the roundabout (yet another reason i hate roundabouts) at pearl.  safety precludes us from not traveling in pairs so now you are down to possibly 3 "groups" to work 6 "hot spots" from approximately 11pm - about 4am 7 days a week.  this is where higher math comes into play as well as the ability to clone etc.  and the - get the others in the neighborhood involved - LOL, they are too busy getting their drunk on and disrupting meetings to worry about this.  the rest - as long as it isn't in their little bubble - they are perfectly fine with it being in hamsterdam - they just don't want you to show it on video.

we too have "spoken" with them - know the "history" of many of them and it has nothing to do with where any of them stay (similar to the don't crap where you eat theory) it is almost solely because this is where the gomers are and the gomers are here because JSO lets them.

Most of the trannies that are working that area over by the shell actually live in the neighborhood.  A couple are from the Court of Mars behind Shands, but a few more live in the homes for rent behind boulevard.  Two of the boys are just long time residents in the neighborhood and then there are about 10 other ones that are from the north and east of Springfield proper.  

They like to claim that when you talk to them to give them some "legitimacy" for being in the area. It used to be the case and the Flagship at 6th between Silver and Laura used to be a hotspot. But that has pretty much ended about two years ago. I think right now, only one lives at the Flagship. We followed a few of them home to verify some time ago.

The addresses Cindi posted are from arrest reports. Many may be wrong as well. The Arlington Exp way address appears to be legit and about 3 or 4 of them are sharing an apartment over there. Note that JSO will not necessarily validate an address, nor is it punishable to provide a wrong address.

The johns don't know each other, dont communicate and certainly dont compare notes.  You have to discourage them one at a time, and there are tens of thousands of men who will randomly go out to find a prostitute.  Trying to discourage them one at a time would take years and in the meantime new ones would simply replace the old ones.

I tend to agree with you on this one. While I have been able to identify some communications between Johns frequenting upper Main Street and Phillips Hwy, there is nothing from the Johns in our area.

So get some police action with the women and pimps.  They arent organized, and can be one-at-a-timed effectively.

At least in our area, there are no women. The men actually actively attack and chase the few women away that I saw here. We got one that was a bit persistent late last year, but I have seen her getting chased out by the men (both prostitutes as well as helpers) a few times and beaten up badly once.

The trannies are going to be a bigger slower issue.  And the only thing that works is creating an environment where the Johns decide visually that they don't want to stop there.

The trannies are difficult because its "what they do". I don't think there is anything else they ever can or would consider doing. JSO seems to think that they are doing it for drug money, which may be right. But I see very few drug arrests in that group. If you look up a female prostitute, you frequently see some prior arrests that involve crack or meth. For the trannies, there is hardly one with the obligatory 20g or less of cannabis. Kind of interesting, and maybe there is more to it.

Activity on the street is the best deterrent.

Turning tricks on the street is generally over by 3 am in springfield on the weekends.  On most nights the activity is done by 12/1.  It coincides with people leaving the bars a little drunk and wanting to get laid.

I have to pull the latest data (there is a car counter at my house). But typically it is 11pm-3am, with the peak around 2am. Given the particular offering of male transvestites, we tend to attract a different group of Johns here.

Friday and Saturday night is of course big business, but interestingly weekdays are not bad either. Many of the Johns are looking for a particular prostitute and will spend an hour and more circling the block until they find it. This will make stings difficult of course. In some cases pickups are pre-arranged and the John will first call ahead and the prostitute will wait at the pre-agreed corner. For a sting against the prostitutes, weekdays are probably more affective as they tend to idle more and are willing to accept new customers more easily.

Our working assumption is that either side (prostitutes and johns) prefer not to be shown in public. Call it a larger, virtual, spot light. Shining the light on a prostitute in a way makes them more visible to potential customers. But they always move away from the light.

I don't know, excuse my french but if I was a dude, being filmed having another dude, (dress or no dress) sucking my d**k would not be on my list of things to be seen doing. If they don't know the "girls" are really guys they are dumb but if they do, it would be embarrassing as all get out to be caught and exposed (no pun intended) to family and friends. While watching the video from this morning all I could think about, cause the he hos don't surprise me, was what would this guy's friends think if they saw him getting a bj from a guy in girls clothing, right out in public no less.
