State rep’s proposal would exclude gay-themed productions from tax credit

TALLAHASSEE

Movie and TV productions with gay characters could be ineligible for a tax credit being considered in the state House.

Current state law grants tax credits on productions considered "family friendly" â€" with no smoking, sex, nudity or profane language.

The proposal by Republican Rep. Stephen Precourt of Orlando would increase the credit and expand the field of disqualified productions as those that include any "exhibit or implied act" of nontraditional family values and gratuitous violence.

Precourt says he's not targeting the gay community but that shows with gay characters would not be something he'd want "to invest public dollars in."

Florida Together director Ted Howard says "instituting 1950s-style movie censorship does nothing to support real-life families."

Oh yea, because those who are gay can't have a family or be apart of one.
Gotcha

>_> This type of stupidity irks me.

Sport, you aren't getting angry enough.  It should send you into a foaming rage as it does me.
When all else fails hug the dog.

It should, but I know I am better and a better person then these people ever hope to be and I pitty their ignorance and take a nice happy fact knowing karma will come around on them.

People need to stop voting these fools into power who basically wear a politically correct mask, and cont. prevent rights that everyone should be entitled to have. It amazes me that gays can fight for this country but even still cant have all the same rights. And are thought of as subhuman from those who don't understand and dislike anything that is different to them.

Still no quite as bad as the dumbass from Keystone Heights wanting to ban aboritions within the state.

This is a huge problem, politicians and their religious views trying to project nonsense upon the people.

Funny, I actually group them with the other crazy people strapping bombs to themselves as both are trying to push their own agenda down people's throats and those who don't agree are seen as lesser beings....granted the methods are very different lol

This is an utter f'king joke and completely INFURIATES me.

Because straight parent(s) only raise straight children, right? This is pure discrimination and total crap. I guess I should not be eligible for the Pell grant and Stafford Loans and scholarships because those "public dollars" are contributing to a gay persons' education??

Truly well-bred people do not give a fig about how their "domestics" are carried out. If I had thought otherwise about this f'ker I would have mistaken him for working class.

I wish there was a box I could check on my tax returns that was labeled "homo," so I could get a tax break for all the trickle down that gays DO NOT get. Or I suppose in this case, what we are not "entitled" to because some stupid f'kstick from ORLANDO of all places (lol) thinks it is not FAMILY FRIENDLY!!!

WOW!!!

I also love how they bundled gays in with gratuitous violence. I am absolutely foaming at the mouth Dog Walker! This is incredulous!!!

Also I wish this crap about "traditions" and "traditional families" would cease.

Does anyone really know what that is? What exactly does someone mean by "traditional families?" Does it even really exist?

Wait, let me guess: there is only one tradition in America. Got it...
