The owners of the Sawgrass Marriott Resort in Ponte Vedra Beach have sought bankruptcy protection from creditors.

RQB Resort LP listed assets and debt of as much as $500 million each in Chapter 11 documents filed Monday in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Jacksonville. RQB Development also sought protection.

The title is sort of misleading as it appears the owners are filing, and not the resort itself.
