I got seasons also way before Touchdown Jacksonville. Although it was a good idea. Can Tebow stay out of the hospital long enough to play football?

eh in all honesty if he just has a Jag Jersey it'll put fans in the stands.
more fans means they will all feed off each other and become a better crowd which will keep alot of people coming back because they will get swept up in a crowd mentality and have fun, gaining more solid fans from fair weather.

Or maybe 'fans' will leave the drafting up to the general manager and support a team of players chosen by his expertise.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

If that is the case, then I just downgraded my opinion on that already f*cked up university's fanbase.

If Tebow drags new fans to the stands and the jags deliver a great experience many will stay no matter how he does.

huh? If he's drafted to be the Jags QB and he doesn't do well then the experience is poor.

Exactly, I was waiting for someone else to say something.

He's not worth a 1st or 2nd round pick.  If they can get him in the 3rd or later he may be worth the risk.

Even if they see good games or a winning season. I think you sell tham short and of course I am only talking about keeping a percentage.

Uh, except that a lot of the more intelligent (when it comes to NFL football, at least) feel the same way.

We aren't in the Shack Harris days anymore. Gene Smith will ONLY draft Tebow if he likes what he sees over the offseason...and the guy HAS to show he can be an NFL quarterback. Things like actually taking a snap under center, not relying on gimmicky plays, etc. Gene isn't going to pick Tebow just to cater to those Gator fans who are crying for it. If you listen to a lot of sports analysts on TV and sports radio, Tebow actually isn't considered "The Chosen One" by most of them.

I will be upset if Tebow is a Jaguar QB. I don't believe he has what it takes. If I'm wrong, I'll eat my words... but I think there are other options.

That all being said... my friends and I renewed our tickets and actually moved them from 201 to 105. I can't wait until next season!

I thought we needed Tebow, but after the Senior Bowl,  :o , er, no. That is not what we need.

Anyone read the TU this morning? Since I did, I'll let you know that Gene Smith has been instructed by Weaver to go back to the 4-3 defense, and to do so, they need another pass rusher on the other side of Harvey (who Smith said will hopefully be a force in his 3rd year, but the book remains open). Then you have Terrence Knighton (sp?) and Henderson. That leaves the other rusher position that was vacated when ? went down first game of last season and was lost all year. Groves is not the answer, so you need someone who can create rush and chaos. Either Dunlap (Florida) or Morgan (Georgia Tech) are the best available when the Jags pick. Since Dunlap is coming off a DUI conviction, the Jags are not looking for another problem draft pick, I believe they will take Morgan who had 12 1/2 sacks last season at Tech, 1 1/2 shy of all that the Jags had in 16 games.

Jags need a better tougher D before they can get back to the playoffs. Review the stats, the D was in the bottom third of the league and has been getting worse and worse over the last few years.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

The same can be said about you, but I actually contribute to actual discussion on here. All you provide is mindless, completely irrelevant crap.

Oh yeah, I forgot, I'm feeding the troll.

About Morgan having almost as many sacks as the Jags last season...  You can't make a fair comparison between college stats and NFL stats.   They are two totally different games with infinitely distinct and separate realms of talent and balance.

Having said that, I hope that the Jags can get a consistent pass rusher this year in the draft.  Such a pass rusher will not only pressure the quarterback, but could also create matchup problems to free up Harvey, Groves, and other rushers on the line beside him.

Trust that the GM and his scout have a better grasp than 99% of us fans and will adhere to drafting the best player. The more talent on your team, the better the team will be. Just buy tickets ... as fans, that's all we can really do.
