QuoteJimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches, a restaurant concept new to the Jacksonville market, is coming to the Southside and San Marco.

The franchised chain, which focuses on sandwiches and submarine sandwiches as well as catering and delivering, will open in a 1,354-square-foot space in Tapestry Park off Southside Boulevard near Tinseltown in February. Alan Schuetz of Jacksonville is the franchisee of the Southside restaurant owned by Tapestry Park Partners LLC.

Murphy Land & Retail Services Inc. senior retail associate Carrie Smith represented the tenant in the deal.

The second restaurant, in a 1,700-square-foot, free-standing building that was the former site of the Quiznos Subs at 1725 Hendricks Ave., will open this spring.

Thank god!

We're running out of place to eat over here in San Marco. (the low-middle tier places at least)

We lost Panera Bread, Quiznos, Moe's & Gino's pizza last year.

I don't bother with High-Tide since Burrito Gallery's so much better, and I never bother with "Oral Explosions" just because it feels like a food court in a mall.

Joe

Jimmy Johns is pretty good stuff. I like Quiznos and Subway better, but nothing wrong with even more sub shops.

The Moe's in San Marco closed? I didn't realize it but not surprising. It was terrible.

The Moe's became a Cuban restaurant. Glad to see some of the empty spaces getting filled in.

never heard of JJ.  I hope it is all that everyone here makes it out to be.  I also like the idea of a cuban restaurant over moe's any day.  Has anyone tried it yet?

I've heard of Jimmy Johns but never eaten there. Nice to see someplace new opening though... I'm still sick over Panera leaving. How long before the landlord raises the rent on Jimmy Johns and they close, too?

Also re: Moe's, that place really had gone downhill before they closed. Can't say I was sorry or surprised to see them gone.

Agreed. I will have to check it out.

Glad to hear JJ is replacing Quiznos vacant space, even though Quiznos tastes better IMO.

I think it was the parking situation that did Quizno's in.  Hopefully it won't be same for the next tenant.
