This is the first time I have posted on Metro Jacksonville but frequent the site often.  I've read many of the ideas and seen many wonderful and ambitious visions . And, I like many of you love what the city could be but hate that our city leaders have not let the city meet it's full potential. And I'm tired of a city were self interest wins out of others.I think it's time for true leaders with a with a passion for our city to take charge. Instead of complaining about what the city hasn't done and what their not going to do. Let's change our future why don't some of you that possess this passion run for the city counsel or even Mayor.

If anyone should run for office, it should be our readers and posters!

It'd be a cold day in hell before I'd get elected for anything. ;p

Welcome Blue and Happy Thanksgiving!  Your post reflects the sentiments of most who come to this site.  That is what it is for and we welcome your future posts and input.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

Welcome to the forum and I wish you a happy Thanksgiving.

I'm however, 100% in agreement that our current city administration has failed us. So let's put our efforts into supporting those who do work towards a positive change and let's stand behind those who honestly want to move this city towards and meet it's full potential. I'm looking forward to the mayoral and city council elections! It's time for a positive and healthy change for Jacksonville!!

Thanks for all the welcomes and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you too. So did I convince anyone?

Welcome to the forums blue.

Its good advice, I think.

From the past couple of years of in depth discussion and criticism and brain storming, the metrojacksonville readers have to be about the most informed future leaders of the past three or four generations.

If anyone should run for office, it should be our readers and posters!

Should I?  8)

"I will not accept if nominated and will not serve if elected." Cop out? Maybe, but this is the land of free will.
And, that $115 will save Jacksonville from financial ruin. - Mayor John Peyton

I think that we should follow our city leaders and if they're against urbanization, we shouldn't vote them in next election. It sounds radical but, this is a sort of life and death, for our city. Let's tell them, if they continue to carry us down the path they've been taking us, we'll simply vote them out! Let's shake it up a bit!
