I didn't see this mentioned anywhere--the Pizza Palace was held up at gunpoint last Nov 12 @ 8 PM. Here's the information. http://crimesceneriverside.blogspot.com/2009/11/armed-robbery-at-pizza-palace-in-5.html

Thankfully no one was shot--the young lady at the register was apparently injured though by a blow to the head with the butt of the gun.

There was another robbery at gunpoint that same day (3 am) on the river at Goodwin Street. Both incidents describe the assailants as two black males. The crime reports give further details. http://crimesceneriverside.blogspot.com/2009/11/strong-arm-robbery-on-goodwin-street.html

And to think I moved down to Goodwin just recently thinking that I would be safer than where i came from... i guess im going to have to consider arming myself afterall.  :(

^Yeah man... I just moved to Gilmore and my new nieghbors told me there has been a rash of break-ins recently. Residents need to keep an eye out for each other.  Report any unusual activity.

I think anyone that is caught stealing from someones house should just be killed on site.  I think once you've done something like that, you've lost your right to live.

Read the other entries on the crimesceneriverside site. You could have a drinking game for the number of times Kickback's is mentioned in relation to robberies.

I used to eat at that building years ago when it was Bud Ezell's BBQ. King St. leads right into the war zone of North Riverside/Lackawanna...bad freaking news since day one and the hits keep on comin'. That area is just too Thunderdome now.

^yeah what is the deal with that area?  I keep hearing that it's pretty rough over there.

How could Pizza Palace get robbed at 8pm on a Thursday night?  I live right around the corner and it seems that I always see cops in that area, especially parked right across the street.  It seems like this area is getting out of hand and I'm glad I will be moving back to the suburbs in a few days.

Yeah, it seems like there are always cops right there in the parking lot in front of the Chinese place and Firehouse and everything.... Funny, they never seem to be around when anything is going on... Sigh...

Just be sure to get training as well as a concealed carry permit and gun.  There are too many people who buy a gun and think that's enough; if you want to be safe, it takes A LOT of practice to be proficient with it.
