Very positive puff piece, they interviewed the owners of Uptown Market and also City Kidz, and did some nice shots of a new building that the reporter said was the first new retail commercial construction in the area in 40 years.

The news is definitely picking up on S'field lately, and all seems to be positive.

What network was this on?

Things are starting to move now that construction on Main is nearly finished.  Within the last few months we've seen several openings/announcements between 3rd and 8th alone including the aforementioned City Kidz and Uptown Market.  Other new additions are Mike & Wafaa's, a thrift store and coming soon a fish market.  9th and Main has been gathering interest and has very recently hosted an event.   And that's just on Main St.

We've also added the Wine Cellar at Three Layers and most recently a jazz bar, Fusion (on Pearl north of 8th).

115 W 2nd was finally purchased and it appears work has already begun.  This is a magnificent 3 story brick building that has been boarded up for years.  I think it should probably be added to the monthly construction update.

So if you haven't been to Springfield in a while take a trip our way and spend some time at these places.  I think you'll be rather surprised.
