Still, no thanks, not with UF's track record at producing QBs.

Individual players should be judged, not the program producing them, especially at QB...not very many nfl contributing quarterbacks come out in the draft every year.  QB is a unique position anyway because you are not really part of a unit, like a corner back or offensive lineman.

Jacksonville can hardly afford to lose any fans, "fair weather" or not

I realize that, but given UF's many decade track record of QBs sucking wind at the pro level, it is hard to overlook it.

If they do draft him, just for ticket sales, and he fails to produce, they'll lose em anyways. Honestly, we need to concentrate on drafting OL players and WRs. Garrard is a descent QB, but has a shitty OL protecting him and penetration happened on nearly every other play it seemed last season.

I just think we could honestly use our draft picks more wisely than drafting a guy for ticket sales and possibly being a total waste of money. We can't afford to lose fans, but damn sure can't afford to lose fans and a couple million sitting on the bench, doing nothing.

watching the senior bowl and tebow is nowhere near ready to be an nfl qb. i sure hope the jags don't make the mistake of taking him too early.

Yeah, he'll be lucky to go in the 3rd round IMO now. His draft stock took a heavy hit , which I was expecting.

I admit it, I'm laughing, especially at everyone that think he walks on water.

Quit thinking sports and start thinking business y'all. Whatever Tebow is or isn't, lunitic or zealot, straight or gay, etc... his ability to draw the media and fans like fly's to honey is undeniable. Gator Nation loves him. We better pray the Jag's get him, and get him tomorrow, because Tebow brings one sure thing to Metropolitan Stadium...
If he fills the seats, I don't care if he wears his cleats on his head, just go after him quick.

"CHA - CHING", "CHA - CHING", "CHA - CHING!"

Ock...I can promise you those adoring fans won't be around long if he plays like he did today.

hanjin1

i believe that he could sell some seats the first year, but if he turns into a dud like he looks to be, how much longer do you think gator nation will continue to fill the seats, especially if he isn't playing? i would not want to throw a 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounder away just to maybe sell some more seats. You can already see what has happened to the jags for basically throwing away there last few 1st round draft picks.

Keith-N-Jax

Ock-- we dont need more gimmicks. The Jags cant afford to make more mistakes in drafting. Were still paying for that right now. I like Tebow, but the Jags already have good tight ends, Jaxson-Deville position is not open, we have the roar, so I dont know where Tebow will fit in.
