This isn't breaking news yet, but I suspect that some of the media will pick up on this sooner or later. The city has decided, in the interests of saving thousands and thousands of dollars, not to mention lost man hours, that the 24 hour yearly training requirement for all city employees will go away effective August 1!! This has been a total waste of time, money and manpower. Not sure how much it will affect the budget shortfall but its a start..Thank DOG

It was supposed to be for career training..job specific course. But they quickly ran out of those, so then it became things like, Getting along with workers, Diversity, Stress and you.etc etc..employees get paid for 8 hours work..the classes started at 8:30..you took an hour and a half lunch and left by 3:30..not to productive was it?? A big waste of time in my book, where I could have been back at my desk doing my job...so glad they got rid of this idea..
