re: Greaseman..."when he was fresh" ??  LOL   I'm an old geezerette, I remember him on the radio over 30 years ago.  My mom thought he was hysterical, so when your parents think something is cool, that sort of kills it right there.  I've seen the advertisements for him on tv recently -- I don't care to listen to him again.  Meanwhile, back to the THREAD already in progress - Athens Cafe.  omg...

Might I add that the uptown market in Springfield has AWESOME deli sammiches.  There was this turkey sandwich with avocado in it that was orgasmicly good.

I haven't gotten to try as many different places since I'm an out-of-towner, but my favorites in no particular order are Clark's, Jenkins BBQ, Chart House, Metro Diner, and Basil Thai.  I'm really looking forward to trying Uptown Market and Burrito Gallery, among others.
The tourist would realize at once that he had struck the Land of Flowers - the City Beautiful!

I don't think anyone has mentioned vegetarian options yet. Chamblin's Uptown makes a mean Veggie Wrap-fabulous! I'm expecting jokes from Ocklawaha or Steve Z to follow...

5 Guys (Regular sized cheeseburger) Burgers and Fries....when you want a good ol' hot, juicy cheeseburger, and fries cut from real Idaho "pertaters"  *Slingblade's pronunciation*  that sit in boxes stacked up in the joint - and you can eat peanuts roasted in the shell while you wait only a few minutes for your order.

Actually, Ock, I think you missed the one category where Krystal does claim top prize.  LATE NIGHT!!  After FL/GA every year for about half a decade my friends and I get about 6 sackfuls and recount the Gator victory.  Ohhh Memories.....

I believe the category is, "Krystals, where the south sobers up."
