Just got back from the sneak preview. I posted this on my facebook, but thought I would share, and see if others agreed, or disagreed.

It was entertaining. The kids enjoyed it, but to be honest, I felt the subject matter was a bit much for their age.

First problem. Too much robot. It was so much cooler as a kid having this toy that in 4 or 5 motions went from an awesome car or plane to being a bad ass looking robot. these freaking things are just WAY too much.

Second, Loved Megan Fox in the first one. Hot girl, mean streak. It worked. In this one, at first, I actually thought they had replaced her, then I realized it was her, and she had just lost the mean streak. She is NOTHING but eye candy in this movie, which, I think, is a step down from the first one....

Third, too much 'OMG WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO NOW!!!' going on. It seems like EVERY scene is this major, world ending climactic drama, only to realize, your not even close yet.

The final battle scene is way too long. it goes on for YEARS. I sorta felt myself rooting for mutually assured destruction.

So, final synopsis. Worth seeing on the big screen, but not great overall.

What do you expect?  A bunch of alien autonomous robotic organisms are attacking planet Earth in an effort to avenge their fallen bretheren!  That's a whol lot of OMG going on!   ;D

Just ribbin' ya.  I can't wait to check this one out.  Thank God for the new theatres in St. Augustine because I'll be watching it on a state of the art digital projection screen with 6 chanel Dolby digital sound!  Woot!

Just saw it over the weekend.  Gotta say - it was definitely in your face action-packed climactic-battle scenes for a huge chunk of the film.

But man, what a rush!  And bonus points for bringing back Frank Welker, the original voice actor for the cartoon/80s Soundwave (minus the vocorder, but hey) for this iteration of the same character.

I absolutely love how there are a couple of original voice actors in key roles. Peter Cullen for Optimus Prime, and Frank Welker for Soundwave.  R.I.P. Chris Latta (original Starscream).

And Hugo Weaving makes a good Megatron. (I'd love to hear Megatron say "Mr. Anderson" just once!)

Overall I give two hearty thumbs-up!  Can't wait for #3!!

I caught it in IMAX, and I do agree that it was a bit over-the-top at times for the younger audience it was trying to draw in.  Basically, they tried to mature the product while making it immature at the same time.  Didn't quite work.

I liked the robots beating each other up and Megan Fox as eye candy.  Gave me a bit of a break from movies like Angels & Demons, and recently District 9 (both of which I also enjoyed a lot, and I'd call District 9 the best movie I've seen so far this year).

^ What better reason for a #3? :)

I cant argue this without spoiling anything for anyone,
point is I counted to many basic math mistakes, and unaccounted showings and goings that were to conveant.

BUT, it was pretty to watch ^_^
