Does anyone know whats going on with that new place at Post and King St? Right across from the chinese restauraunt. I believe the name is Walkers. I've driven by there a few times this week and it looks like its empty except for some tables. Did they already close?

They're still open and going strong as far I know... they're interior is pretty minimal.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Thanks Schwaz..but if you take a close look inside the place you can see the tables, but nothing else..not chairs, not a bar, nothing...and I went by in the evening when I figured they would be open and saw no cars and the lights off.

they are definitely open... i think they open up at 7pm during the week... silly to me since they miss out on the happy hour crowd... i really like the place, it does look kind of dead from the outside even when it is open. Their sign is etched on the glass.. some sort of lit sign would help them out

Cool. Thanks. I guess I'll have to go by after 7pm some evening.

They do open at 7 - however from my experience the place really doesn't get going until after 10 or so.  I went at like 8:15 one night, and my group of 5 nearly doubled the crowd.  However, we left shortly before 11, and the place was pretty full.

It's definitely worth a trip.

I just heard they open at 4pm.

My wife and I went there tonight right after work....it was around 6:00 pm and we were the only one's there for the time we were there.  Drove by it last night and it had a good crowd and they seem to be pretty busy on the weekends.

I think the place is great and i like how they are taking a conservative approach to the place.  very minimal interior and it has a great ambiance when it's busy.  It's a good place to get a wine or a beer and just hang out.

Scott McCallister, the owner, is also a developer in the area, he has ties here in Jax. Good guy and he will do well here!

I love Walker's.. the champagne mojito is awesome! Give it a try if that sounds like something that is up your alley.
It's nice having a bar that I can walk to in under a minute's time!
