In the same vein, beware of the "phone company" people at your door asking if you have a home phone.  90% of home alarms are hooked up to landlines, therefore no landline = no home alarm.

I dont ever answer my front door ever anymore unless im expecting someone, even if they see me through the window.  ;D

JSO has a form you can fill out that will arrest tresspassers on your property. Without the form, the JSO only issues warnings....

"This is a game-changer. This is what I mean when I say taking Jacksonville to the next level."

I like to answer the door with a shotgun... I'm polite though!  :)

For some reason they never come back?  ???

Couldn't you call and report him. If this guys his going door to door that would give police enough time to arrive and check his credentials.
And though I long to embrace, I will not replace my priorities: humour, opinion, a sense of compassion, creativity and a distaste for fashion.

Yeah, you really should call the police non-emergency line when you see suspicious stuff like that.

I know it just seems like a drop in the bucket and that the police response will never be fast enough. But if you don't report it, no one will ever do anything about it. And at the very least, if there are any burglaries, the police will have a description of a potential suspect.

I've gotten completely shameless about calling the police whenever I even think I'm seeing a crime. Sometimes it's frustrating when you can tell the dispatcher doesn't give a shit, but it's very rewarding when something gets done. (Like busting up an illegal street race, or catching someone dumping chemicals into a retention pond).
