I did notice a studio... an artist was working.  I could not stop as we were on our way somewhere else.
In a boat at sea one of the men began to bore a hole in the bottom of the boat. On being remonstrating with, he answered, "I am only boring under my own seat." "Yes," said his companions, "but when the sea rushes in we shall all be drowned with you."

I think MOCA only sends out notice to people who give them money.

Good article in the Daily Record, a Jim Bailey publication - who is also running for mayor: about Jim Draper's studio in Riverside:

Stephen, et al, with the looming commercial crisis over the next year, I see rent getting cheaper and cheaper or free, just to keep buildings full and maintained. Letting systems sit is not good for the AC or the electrical. And empty buildings are targets for vandals. So again, I see rent getting better next year.

It would be nice if such a crawl could be coordinated with showing off some of our existing businesses and the available commercial property in the neighborhood.

I like JaxByefault's idea and Vanderleigh would love to be part of the art crawl.  While we don't have active artist studios we do have a number of vintage paintings by listed and undiscovered artists.
