Great tour, as always.   It's great to see an eclectic mix of old-school and new-school architecture throughout that city.  And how about that glass-facade parking garage?  How hip is that?  Imagine how that would look downtown?? 

Sure wish the powers-that-be would wake up and pay attention.  Loads of good ideas and positive examples from all of these tours.

Worcester's "claims" notwithstanding, it is widely acknowledged that the birthplace of modern American industry is the Slater Mill at Pawtucket, RI. While both cities are on the same river (Blackstone), the Pawtucket mill predates the first mill in Worcester by 17 years.

Love the blonde hooker in the Diner and Cafe Dolce photos. When will our city leaders pay attention and get better hookers for Jax!

We need to do what they did to the Klan in '24 to the remaining elements in the South!

This is sad, do we really have the worst downtown in the country? I mean Worchester?

Actually it looks pretty cool, especially given all the negative comments I've heard from my Worcester transplant friends!

I have never met a single person I liked from Worcester. They are  bunch of effing jerks if you ask me....

On a side note, I saw my first concert in Worcester at the old Centrum. Stryper with Hurricane. Also saw Motley Crue, Warrant, Tesla, Metallica, and a few others there. It was a decent arena. I think it was replaced by the DCU center. (or is it the same building?)

Yeah, we're all effing jerks....  I used to have an apartment right off of Shrewsbury St. I used to walk to the Wonder Bar (great pizza) to play darts. Leo's Ristorante was an awesome Italian restaurant, great place to impress a date. Alot of the other bars there are fairly new. The Boulevard Diner had good home made food, mostly Italian but also had good fish and chips... Ahh the good old days, before marriage, kids, and responsibility... There is also a great park on Shrewsbury St. the name escapes me right now, but we used to call it the lion park. At the entrance to the park there were 2 lion statues. It has a baseball field, basketball courts, tennis courts, a public pool, a pavillion where, when I was young, they had concerts and small events, and huge cliffs behind the park that looked over it. We used to sit on the top of the cliffs to watch the 4th of July fireworks...The Shrewsbury St. restaurants are also very well known for the presence of , well lets just call them a group of "goodfellas".. During the Italian festival the street markings are repainted the colors of the Italian flag...My Aunt still owns the Threedecka that I lived in.. I miss the old neighborhood....

From the looks of it, Worcester could have been much more than what it now is.  It was once bigger than Jacksonville; what happened?  I imagine a crash or downturn in the various industries within the City causing people to leave.  Love what happened to the KKK; and this goes for any other racial or ethnic hate group in this country or in the world regardless of color!
