Even faster, Oceanology, the old Sharper Image store, is closing soon. If I'm counting right, they didn't last 6 months. Looking into the store last night, I see why, it looks like hippie beach clothing, more suited for a location Jax Beach or so.

I noticed last weekend that the Belk's Men's and Children's at the Avenues Mall had closed. It was in the old Parisian space. I assume they will be combining their inventory with the other Belk's in the south end of the mall.

Sierra Grille at Baymeadows & Southside is closing for good after tonight. There only other location around here is by Target in south Jax Beach.

I avoid going into stores that are near closing because I feel like a vulture picking over the body of the someone near death. Even though I barely make any money I try to spend what I do earn locally.

This thread has been dormant for a while. Here are some recent closings I know of. I am sure plenty can be added.

O'Charleys on Atlantic/Kernan

Ben and Jerry's on Wells in OP

Food Lion on Beach/Southside (possibly re-opening as a Rowe's?)

Race Trac on Beach near Parental Home.

And I saw the Wendys on Beach across from Mayfair Village was all shut down. I use to work over near there and that place was always busy.

There seem to be a lot of Wendy's closing recently. Roosevelt Boulevard near NAS. Airport Road near JIA. Shame. For fast food, their stuff's not bad.

Ham's on Roosevelt @ St. Johns is now Fast Boys Wings.

My wife was sad to see Swoozie's close at SJTC, but I think the chain is closing all stores nationwide.
