My apologies! You are right. I should do my research before posting. That was someone else with fsu in their postname. Once again my sincerest apologies. Thanks, Shane

yep...that was me...not fsujax

As for adding a little gas to the fire....UF has the largest and best journalism program in the state...so that's where many members of the media got degrees....but it is unfortunate how slanted the reporting sometimes is...for example, anytime there is a "criminole" problem its a top story....but how many people have even heard about Cam Newton's (backup QB) problems this year in Gainesville?

I have and I believe he was booted off the team.  FSU earned the criminole tag not because their players were necessarily worse than other schools but because Bowden and Co. would simply put up with it and let them play so long as they brought him wins.

There was an article in the T-U about this.  This has already received pretty wide coverage.

apparently Meyer meeting with him this week to discuss....the cynic in me thinks that Newton would have been back if Tebow went to the NFL.

So letting Jarvis Moss play against SC rather than suspending him against Western Kentucky for failing a drug test is any different?

Marcus Thomas played most of 2005 and was only suspended at the end of the year for failing tons of drug tests and word got out, including GHB. Yet it was insisted he only failed one test.

What about Dee Webb, Andre “Bubba” Caldwell and Reggie Lewis? That AK47 did not go off accidentally towards apartments with people in them. Dee Webb took the fall since he was already declaring for the NFL.

Or what about Tony Joiner, who was "caught" burglarizing the towing company his girlfriend's car was towed to. Regardless of whether or not he actually had arraigned to pay for the tow and get the car, Bill Cervone stepped in and expedited the process to less than a week (when a normal person would look at weeks minimum before a court date) just so he could play against LSU.

Funny part is, Bill Cervone is a Bull Gator. Favoritism?

Here's a great article by Mike Bianchi (did I just say that?????)
http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_bianchi/2007/10/of-course-urban.html
QuoteJoiner, who was arrested on a felony count of burglary early Tuesday morning for allegedly removing his girlfriend's car from a towing company parking lot, will play for one reason and one reason only: Because the Gators are playing No. 1-ranked Louisiana State; not No. 101-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette. It's a BIG game and Joiner is a star player. He will play because the Gators need him to play.

It's the same reason Florida State coach allowed stud linebacker Geno Hayes to play Saturday against Alabama, despite the fact that Hayes was arrested for disorderly conduct and Tasered by police a few days earlier. Hayes might have sat out if the Seminoles were playing Alabama-Birmingham, but he was darn sure going to be on the field against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Although the Gators and Seminoles like to argue about whose coach is tougher on discipline, it's all just a bunch of message-board malarkey. Remember this: Florida and Florida State recruit from the exact same pool of players and their coaches have the exact same mission:

To Win.

I actually agree with mike on that one. All coaches do it.

Remember that Tebow is from Jax...that may skew things even more.

I bet Myron Rolle is bigger news in the Bahamas than God, I mean, Tim Tebow.

Jandar, I'll fervently defend UF when necessary...but I agree with the excerpt you posted from Bianchi. His articles used to be very entertaining when he was in Jax, and on this one, I think he is pretty fair and hits the nail on the head.
