The idea to turn it into a transit hub makes the most sence, IMO.  The school's structure and layout appear ideal for a true multi-function mixed use transit hub, complete with skyway, streetcar, and bus connections as well as offices, residences, retail and dining that compliment 5 Points and Brooklyn.

Here are a few images I threw together a while back...

Love those images Jason, thank you for thinking of posting them again. The sad part is, the City has the money to do this and pay cash if it so desired... "So desired" being the catch.

Great images....and I so wish the city would actually make the right move and go for this. It would indeed be a great place for a hub like that

I apologize if my reply came off a little harsh.. it wasn't meant to be directed at any of you. Where would I get the FIRE and inspiration from, if not for having read all of your concerns and headaches? I'm just ready for some action to be taken. Very cool of you to post those pictures Jason, this definitely adds to the thought provoking gears running in all of our heads.

Not a problem, I just wanted you to understand that the majority of us are on the same page

I would like to see it turn into a massive restaurant/brewery, something similar to Ragtime, 7Bs, or A1A. There could be parking underneath 95 just like at Sherwoods. My support in the project would be to go there constantly and spend all of my money. Ah to dream...

Timkin,

You pick a poor time to do work on PS4 as there have been many other events already planned in the core and beaches for this weekend.  If you're starting early on Sat.  I'll pitch in and give you guys a hand.

On a side note, I was in PS4 just this afternoon for the first time and just from sitting in the cafeteria / arboretum, I see why this is a special place for you.  The shots that Nomeus took did it justice.  I didn't wander through the building, that was never my intent, I just sat in the open space and ate lunch.  It had an eerie, mystical feeling to it.
A common mistake people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

NRW ... Saturday at 8 am we begin.  If you can make it ,great. if not . it is just beginning and another Saturday that does fit your schedule is appreciated.  There is so much to do ,obviously with even a large team we could not accomplish all that would need to be done in one Saturday.  MJ was kind enough to post a thread , to announce our plan to re launch the cleanup effort.  . We have been trying to get back underway on the project for some time. We had to obtain permission from the perimeter property owner to gain access.  We will work at least two Saturdays per month and as schedules allow during the week.  So we did not particularly target this Saturday on purpose . It is just how it worked out.

Beneath the decay, Vandalism, Overgrowth lies a gem with enormous potential for many purposes.  I am glad you see what I see. :)

Thank you in advance for your willingness to participate. It is much appreciated.   I will provide water, beverages, etc , please bring gloves , trash bags, lawn tools, pruning shears, etc as you have on hand.  Again any Saturday or as your schedule permits.  Thanks so much !!! :)
