I love this article!

It can go ever further : in recent years, Jacksonville has experienced an explosion of new artists coming out of the city that were making a name for theirselves! Especially in the hip hop, southern drill rap, and R&B genres.

Artists like Nardo Wick, Yungeen Ace, Foolio, Lil Poppa, Spotemgottem, Seddy Hendrix, Jdot Beezy, yk Osiris, and more!

Even R&B and Gospel singer, Keedron Bryant from Jacksonville, Fl captured the attention of the nation/world when he posted a capella video of himself singing, "I just want to Live", a song written by his mother in response to the police killing of George Floyd.

I can't make this post without mentioning Lil Duval, Young Cash, Tokyo Jets, Spinabenz, and L.O.V.E. Culture ..

Jacksonville's black music influence runs deep!

The number of black artists coming out of the city who were making it big, grew exponentially over the last decade!

A lot of these new/younger artists from Jacksonville also brought a lot of attention to the city from other artists, for better or for worse...

For many years, Jax was overlooked for its influence on the music industry, but that is changing and has changed.

This cultural shift has influenced Many artists and record labels to look at Jacksonville to shoot music videos, search for upcoming artists, and build their audience/fan base through shows and concerts here, etc.

Jacksonville has definitely left its footprint and continues to shape the black music industry today!

I love it! Thanks for the article! Happy closing of Black Music Month!
