I wonder if their is a connection between my not-so-hot performance on these domino things and my high school experience.  Back in high school, part of the standardized tests we all loved so much had a section on 'spatial recognition' (or something like that). In this section of connected geometric shapes (squares, triangles, rectangles, and more [oh my]), and then four 3-D shapes (represented in 2-D), and you had to choose which shape those (to me) random lines could be folded into. This was always the weakest portion of my testing history.

I got 8 of 10 on your test without spending too much time to overthink it.

FYI, when I do the dominos, I take a few seconds up front to overview the layout and take clues from the number of equals (only so many numbers usually fill the largest number of equals), the "two space - one way totals" (e.g. can only get a twelve with two sixes, an eleven with a six and a five, a ten with two fives or one six and a four, a nine with a six and a three or a five and four) and the fixed number spaces and work from there.  It gets tricky when there are multiple solutions to a given clue but this does narrow it down quickly to what the ultimate solutions should be.

I try not to lock in on a setup that isn't working quickly, too.  In the easier games, I spend as much time turning the tiles as I do solving the puzzle  ;D.  Good luck  8).

I missed three - big surprise to me.
