Wordle 223 4/6

My best is 2, my worst 6.  I would say my average is about 4 over time which is also my most common score.

Based on scores posted on the Jaxson and the computer program in an article I previously posted here, it does seem that its hard to average much better than 4 over time.  Most words seem to have at least 1 or 2 "less common" letters so narrowing down common letters just isn't enough.

If one figures there are at least 10 "common" letters to eliminate/include in the first 2 guesses and a reasoned guess thereafter on what regularly appearing "less common" letters may be worthy to consider on the 3rd guess, you are often going to find yourself at guess #4 at best.

Of course, we can all get lucky at times and do better but the odds don't seem to favor it much.  Just my "theory" on playing this game.

I'm glad you found a word game you're good at...  ;)

For those who can't get enough of playing Wordle once a day:
QuoteHit up the Wordle Archive to get more than your daily fix

...Thankfully, Devang Thakkar, a fourth-year doctoral student in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics at Duke University has come up with a solution. Thakkar has designed a"Remembrance of Wordles Past" archive that lets you solve all the previous Wordles. Though an older Wordle you've already solved can feel "new" again a few weeks later, this is especially exciting for people who didn't hop on the bandwagon until after the game went viral. For example, there have been 221 puzzles as of today, and I didn't start until #210. So many Wordles to uncover!

The archive looks exactly like regular Wordle, with the addition of five buttons at the top: "First," "Previous," "Choose," "Next," and "Last." (Noah Metzger has developed a similar archive, that lets you pick specific puzzle days and tracks whether you've solved them.) Once you select where you'd like to start, you can cruise through, spending hours solving Wordles to your heart's content.

Then there is Dordle, a more devious version of Wordle with twice or more of the challenge:

QuoteDordle, a new more evil Wordle, challenges you to tackle two words at once

Dordle is here to make your daily word game life more complicated.

First came Wordle. Then came the Wordle knockoffs. Among them is Dordle, a devious word game that isn't going to let you off easy. It asks you to figure out two five-letter words, but you can only input one word guess at a time. Confused? Play it and you'll understand....

Wordle 224 4/6

New twist for me:  Got all 5 letters right on the 3rd guess but was a different word than needed.  Rearranged same letters into another word on 4th guess and bingo.

Tried Dordle.  Did a several games.  Best score so far was 2 + 4 = 6 followed by 5 + 2 = 7 and 4 + 3 = 7.  Basically doing 2 Wordles at once with the same guess used for both games.  When one is solved you go on and finish the second game.  Lowest combined score is your goal.  Unlike Wordle you can play multiple times in a session.

Had two choices for my 4th guess, and picked the wrong one.
