Is Medmen still moving forward?

Am in the only one that is a little curious of the chosen brickwork on Southern Grounds?

Demolition of the Wells Fargo at Emerson and Philips continues. Looks like ALDI will beat Publix to the Greater San Marco market.

Imagine that. Aldi proposed entering the market more than a decade after Publix did and will somehow open first.

Hard to imagine on the surface until accepting our reality. Aldi is going with their traditional suburban model. We're very good and accommodating at putting up cheap metal buildings with big surface parking lots. Vertical mixed-use is still a pretty foreign in Jax. Publix just happened to get caught up as the premier anchor tenant in a project that Jax still can't support, more than 15 years after it was first proposed. Their stores go up a lot faster otherwise. I think the new one on Race Track Road near Bartram Park is already open now. Hopefully, they can break ground soon now that the East San Marco is a bit more Jacksonville than Miami or Tampa.

It has been, I haven't gone because there's one even closer to my house. They're building two more on CR 210/Greenbriar Rd down here.

Anyone know what's going on with the crane in front of Friendship Park?

Is that project getting underway, or something else?

They are extending the existing floating dock. About six weeks ago, they drove in pilings for that extension, and then last week actually began to install the floating dock. Currently the dock in front of Friendship Fountain is only accessible to commercial charter businesses (River Taxi, the booze cruise paddleboats, etc). When the extension is complete, the extended part of the dock is supposed to be accessible to public boat docking- which would be the only public boat docking on the Southbank Riverwalk (technically, the Northbank Riverwalk as well since the docks on the Northbank have been destroyed and inaccessible to boaters going on three years now)

There was supposed to be an article about it.... however COJ has not responded to my REPEATED public records requests for three months now. Guess they are too busy trying to reshape the Mayor's image amidst sagging public approval polls and dealing with grand juries.

Peaked through the window last week. Lights are on & the shell build out *appears* complete (dry wall up, etc). But no furnture, cabinets, desks, etc of any kind. Empty.

Medmen as a company is having cashflow problems, and have delayed opening any new stores in Florida for the time being. They have also closed most of their existing stores in the state, as well as some stores in Arizona and California, for the foreseeable future.
