Ken pretty much hits the nail on the head.

Fourth Street Live in Louisville is exactly what the Landing wanted to do awhile ago.... which is to say cut a hole down the middle but keep the roof intact.

The Live! 'arenas' are basically just big indoor sports bars with stages that back into each of their standard tenants (a PBR, some type of brewpub, usually some smaller quick casual places/food court)... not much different than what the Landing was/could have been, to be honest.

Here is Texas Live! out in Arlington

Side note: I saw that Pollstar has Daily's Place as a top 20 amphitheatre type venue.  Worldwide.  As if that isn't enough, St. Augustine is 3rd (#2 in the U.S.).

Still haven't been to Daily's Place. Been to St. Augustine a number of times since Daily's opened, though.
Do you believe that when the blue jay or another bird sings and the body is trembling, that is a signal that people are coming or something important is about to happen?

To be fair, I was given free tickets to the Live/Counting Crows concert at Dailys last summer.  Counting Crows were awful, and Adam Duritz looked like he had just given up on life in general. I spent the entire time thinking 'how in the hell did this dude used to date the likes of mid-20 year old Jennifer Aniston and  Courtney Cox?'. That was of course in between politely dropping an occasional 'can we please go and end this misery?'

Live, however put on a good concert. Ed Kowalczyk looked like he was in his mid-30's instead of late 40's.

Tacachale is too high brow to be seen in any post-grunge environments, of course. Fortunately, there are still great seats available for Peter Frampton  :D

Might as well call it "I Love the 90's Ampitheater" or VH1 Ampitheater at this point.

Hope everyone is ready for Smashmouth and Seven Mary Three to crush it at Jax Live!

So guess who would be most negatively affected by this new Live! venue with the agency's promotional power of having other Live! venues across the country? Why its none other that Downtown's own Florida Theater; also taking away business when they have concerts from the other bars and restaurants around it.

With the big dent this project is anticipated to have on Downtown's retail, nightlife, hotel, office, residential, and now entertainment viability this administration must believe one of the 3 C's in good urban planning is not complimentary uses but clusterfucking.

^You're overthinking the concert aspect of these Cordish Live! venues. The artists and speakers booked by the Florida Theater are in a different class than the c-level artists who put on free concerts at these Cordish venues. Lots of one hit wonders and relatively unknown country acts, from what I gather.

I also can't imagine what's proposed having too much of an effect on the existing landscape. Feels like - barring an existing downtown tenant moving to the sports complex - the business should be largely net new for downtown(ish).

Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but Kansas City Live got tons of great press during the World Cup.  Every US game would cut to the venue to see the reactions from the crowd there on big plays.  Granted, this should have been the Landing, but this will be a great place to watch away games and should get similar tv representation if we can fill it up.

We would just need to bid for the 2030 Women's World Cup and get FOX aboard.

The Women's World Cub wasn't in Kansas City.

Kansas City is the US bid from the 2026 World Cup.  That is why they were featured by FOX.

The entire north american continent is the bid for 2026.  Pretty sure they were showing them because 10,000 people assembled to cheer on our women.

Correct. There will be about 12 cities selected. I think the split is 2 Canada, 2 Mexico, and 8 US. Jacksonville did bid but was eliminated in the round prior to now.
