Main Street over Hogans Creek Project Complete



Main Street at Hogans Creek will reopen Monday after being closed because an inspection found the concrete structure over the creek was unsafe for vehicles.

Thank goodness, depending on traffic, the detours were pretty annoying.

I remember speaking with the PM for this project. Apparently there was an issue where the creek eroded a giant void under Main Street. He said it was roughly 10'x 20'x 5' deep and that the trolley tracks were the only thing bridging the void keeping the street from collapsing... that could have been bad.

Are they still planning on making Main St 2-way between State and Union?

Yes. However, that's a part of the State and Union resurfacing project.  I believe the lights have already been installed. They just aren't operational at the moment.

That's the original Claude Nolan Cadillac Building. We have a couple articles on MJ about that building.
