JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Following Sunday's 21-20 loss to the Houston Texans the Jacksonville Jaguars relieved Gus Bradley of his duties as head coach.

Jaguars owner Shad Khan released the following statement regarding his decision to fire Bradley:

I thanked Gus Bradley today for his commitment to the Jacksonville Jaguars over the past four seasons.  As anyone close to our team knows, Gus gave his staff and players literally everything he had.  Our players competed for Gus and I know they have great respect for him, as do I. Gus also represented the Jaguars, the Jacksonville community and the NFL in nothing less than a first-class manner as our head coach.  That counts for a lot.  It is unfortunately evident that we must make a change.  I thought it would be best to do it immediately after today's result so Gus can step away, relax and regroup with his family during the Christmas and holiday season. Dave Caldwell agreed and will now be charged with exploring all options to hire the best head coach possible to lead what I feel is an extremely talented team and reward a very loyal and patient fan base in Jacksonville.

After 14 games they finally fire Bradley, really.  Really?  It took 14 full games into a season after 3 previous seasons of futility to figure out this just wasn't the guy.  Really!  Just couldn't wait out that last two games Huh!  So management figured out what 75 percent of the people new last year and that 23 percent figured out by game 5, that Bradley is JUST not quite head coach material.  My next question is when does Caldwell get his walking papers, and Shad send his son to the bumper factory

He's fired what does it matter now? time to move on and get this team going in the right direction

Well we will see, the same crew that thought Bradley was the "bees knees" is still there. The guy that did the 2013 draft is still right there (how did that Luke Joeckel pick work out for him), that whole draft could have been a gene smith rehash

2013 draft was a disaster, 2014, if BB is a bust that will be a major set back.  I hope the next head coach, and hopefully the next general manager can get things back on track.

No coach is winning games the way BB5 played this year, gotta get that fixed as well. Also we could hand pick every bad pick on every team, its easy to sit back after that fact and say should drafted this person versus this one. All GM miss on picks. 2013 was a bad draft in general no one was barking on the door to move up in that draft, that alone tells you it was bad.

Beat writers are saying loyalty to Bortles was a problem.

As an example, the Texans pulled Osweiler today and won.

When reporters in post game asked if he had ever considered playing Henne yet, his answer was "No".

Bortles admitted he kind of sluffed off on fundamentals training during the last off season and it showed. But he didnt hire a new trainer until well into the season.

So there was problem #2.

NO doubt. I am assuming Bortles will be training this offseason, we cant go through that again next yr. better QB play and they blow the Texans out.

Some beat writers are kind of perplexed why at 2 wins are they not playing other new talent to evaluate them for next year. Allen's name was mentioned.

That would mean Allen would need to get first team reps, and I believe they were hoping BB5 would come out of this funk he was in. He didn't!!!
